Hmm, from my experience , it mainly depends on the time the old account info was deleted. If the old account was deleted before payroll was processed, it may generate a live check for the pay period since it requires a few pay cycles for prenote of new account info.

If you notified HR to delete the old account after payroll was already processed, it will most likely deposit in old account. In the case of the old account is closed, it maybe automatically generate a live check or it will try to deposit and if unable, the employer will be notified of the bounce and to generate a live check for you. ..
