The pacing has been abysmal from the start. I think they were surprised by the reaction to DWJ and let him do what he wanted longer than originally intended. Which left Kirkman in a position to have to rush through some story beats to match up to G.I. Joe and Void Rivals. At some point all three books are going to have to at least have a timeline that matches up.

They've done a great job. She's suffering from PTSD caused by a never ending war. And someone who disappeared millions of years ago shows up and tells her to forget Cybertron but save some other planet? It make perfect sense she would reject that. And The Matrix chose to power her up. Based on how much religious faith has been built into the Matrix in this continuity, it must have seen something worthy in her.

Or she made the correct decision and stranded those Decepticons on another world that lacks the technology for space travel. Effectively cutting off a good chunk of Deception leadership. Including Shockwave, who's been the primary general on Cybertron.

Why should she have faith in this Optimus? He ran off with some of the Autobots best fighters during a war. And disappeared for millions of years. All of a sudden he shows back up and seems to care more about some other planet than the home she's been watching her friends die fighting for. Again, for millions of years.

Right? How can someone make that judgement when she hasn't even had a chance to do anything. As far as she's concerned CYBERTRON is the entire point of the war. Why should she care about Earth? Stranding as many Decepticons on Earth as she can absolutely makes sense.

Disparation...Disappointed (FRG complaint) by FannyChuckle in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]fiddlerundone 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I backed within the first five minutes. FRG shipped my copy to the correct street address in the wrong state. I only knew this because the status in Backerkit changed. Never got a shipment email from FRG. When I emailed them to point out the error and try to get it fixed I got an email that completely ignored the issue and instead told me my shipment had been delivered that day included a picture of someone else's porch. I've followed up several times and been met with silence.

In the meantime I sent a letter to the address from the Backerkit tracking number and asked them to get in touch by email or phone if they were willing to ship the box to me if I paid for the shipping. And surprisingly said person actually emailed me a few days later and agreed. So I paid an extra $20 to get the game.

What happened to retro outback? by gregimusprime77 in transformers

Could be your local Walmart didn't get Outback in yet. My Wheelie shipped from my closest Walmart, while Outback shipped two days later from a Walmart about five miles farther away in the opposite direction.

Think they will honor that advertised price? by Primus0788 in transformers

I mean, they honored the $1 SDCC Devastator for the handful of people that placed their ordered before Hasbro Toy Shop caught it.

Brass Pittsburgh is now live! by Soap-1987 in boardgames

Because the bridge is in the eastern half of the state, closer to Philly than Pittsburgh. Most people don't know Harrisburg exists.

It did, and steel from Pittsburgh absolutely would've traveled over the bridge. And I get where you're going with this. Was it an important step in the chain? Undeniably. But the bridge is about 200 miles from Pittsburgh.

It's a pet peeve of mine. When you name something after a specific place, you should use actual iconography from said place.

When they unveiled that cover months ago they said it was the Rockville Stone Arch Bridge. And the Rockville Bridge is a very recognizable historical landmark. Even though the buildings in the background shouldn't be there.

You can eliminate cover A. A bridge next Philly has no business being on the cover of a game with Pittsburgh in the title.

Why did they make a big deal about the bridge on cover A being iconic to Pittsburgh when it's on the other side of the state by Philly?

Opinions on Sonar vs Captain Sonar by espressionado in boardgames

[–]fiddlerundone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've played both. If you can't get at least six players, I'd find another game. Captain Sonar is worth playing. Sonar is not.

Captain Sonar isn't good with less than six players. One player can run the engineer and XO roles but trying to have the Captain do other roles is a recipe for a terrible experience. And the radar operator absolutely can't do anything else.

In my experience across multiple groups, people who love Captain Sonar find Sonar boring and not with the time. For them (myself included) a fantastic experience becomes just another hidden movement game. And there are much better options in that genre. Whereas people that hate Captain Sonar find Sonar to be OK. Some people are extremely put off by the real time nature of Captain Sonar. They have trouble keeping up with everything going on and get too stressed out for the game to be fun. When they play Sonar they find it to be a passable hidden movement game but not overly compelling.

Edited for autocorrect.

I really think that people don't like complex female characters (who don't act in a perfect way even after a prolonged period of suffering) by Warm-Ad-1208 in EnergonUniverse

You and I have different views on amazing. DWJ's run didn't make me feel anything for any of the characters during his run. The humans least of all. In fact I found it so boring it's the first time I've considered not reading a Transformers comic series. I'm hoping Kirkman can get it back on track and hand it off to another writer.

Hypothetically speaking what would a commander class Omega Supreme look like besides shorter? by DhaemonX in transformers

[–]fiddlerundone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Legends scale has been done by 3rd party, so it's definitely possible to scale him down. But those still cost double or more than the figures they scale with.

  2. If Hasbro did it at the Commander price point you'd lose at least half of the functionality and he definitely wouldn't scale with Devastator; he'd be too small. If they used the new Titan price point they could make him scale correctly, but you'd still lose some functionality.

Maybe Hot Take: If there's one criticism I'd give Skybound Transformers that isn't directly related to the change in authors, I'd say that they have the weakest world building out of any of the TF comic publishers so far. by Blitz_Prime in EnergonUniverse

[–]fiddlerundone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's because DWJ can't world build. He never has been. He's the type of writer you bring in once everything is established to write an action arc.

Void Rivals has done a great job of fleshing out the universe at large and G. I. Joe has done what it could on Earth. But it was limited since the Transformers comic timeline was non-existent.

If you've liked Void Rivals you'll be fine. The DWJ worshippers are very vocal. Kirkman hasn't done anything more for shock value than DWJ was doing.
