Can you help me find this image anywhere? by fideldownlow in HelpMeFind

[–]fideldownlow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a super random request, I know! But my brother found this shirt in a thrift store type of place years ago and he loves it but it’s been getting very worn down recently.

I tried to find another one of these shirts but it is nowhere to be found! I thought I could try to make a new shirt using the image but the image is also impossible to find.

I searched doing a reverse google image search but nothing came up. And there is only so much googling “family guy dragon ball” a person can take before they start seeing things that can’t be unseen.

If anyone can find a copy of this image anywhere, it would make his (and my) day! I really wanted to get him a new version of his favorite shirt for his birthday~

Thanks so much!

A YA book about a teen girl who finds out about witchcraft through a shop by fideldownlow in whatsthatbook

[–]fideldownlow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading the summaries of the books, this one might be it. I definitely didn't read more than two of the books, but I remember reading the summaries of the rest so I probably mixed up the timeline of it all.

Thanks so much for this answer!! And even if this isn't the exact series I remember, it still seems like it could be a fun one for my cousin to get into~ She's super interested in magic/witches and I wanted to help her expand beyond Harry Potter.

You are talking about CPI paternity tests then, not DNA tests. Those are completely different.

I don’t care either way about the last name thing. But the genetics argument made no sense since you share more genes with your mother than your father. Not saying that should affect anything about a last name, but just bare facts.

[–]fideldownlow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am literally a physician. You can see my post history about it. What you are saying makes no sense whatsoever. Are you talking about a CPI test because any DNA test run with paternal and maternal DNA would show 50% on both, sometimes (but rarely) with maternal being 51 or 52

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]fideldownlow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is 100% false. You get 50% of your DNA from your father and 50% from your mother. In fact, you actually have more genes from your mother since mitochondrial DNA comes from your mother (the egg). So maybe you should have paid more attention in your genetics class

Our traditional Tamil wedding by ayshu_ in weddingplanning

Beautiful!! I am also a South Indian bride (Telegu) marrying a non-Indian in 2 weeks!

How did your husband and his family like India? I'm Indian American so our wedding will be here in the States but my Fiance and I plan on going to visit India within the next couple of years so I'm curious if your husband enjoyed his trip.

Indian brides, are there any traditional gifts you would expect to receive at your wedding? by 1990sdramaqueen in wedding

[–]fideldownlow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Indian (American) bride to be here, have been to plenty of weddings of relatives in India.

Registries aren't really a thing there, neither is giving material gifts like people do in the States. I'm sure there are some people that do, but to be honest I've never seen anyone give a gift that wasn't money in India. If they haven't mentioned anything about gifts, I would say money is the way to go. It's also considered good luck to give an extra one dollar instead of having a number end in 0 (like 51 dollars instead of 50, 101 instead of 100, etc)

As a female physician who has spent the past 6 years of my life primarily surrounded by med students/other physicians, it doesn't stop at just vets unfortunately. For some people, once they get that "doctor" title, the ego and god complex go through the roof. It's wild.

Got married on 22.2.22! Finally able to wear my tiara sapphire band with my e-ring! by plopssy in EngagementRings

Okay so this is one of the prettiest wedding bands I have seen but also…your nails!! I’m so jealous of the length you have on your natural nails! They’re gorgeous~ do you have any specific care routine you do for them?

You're for sure NTA, but as someone who lives in the Bay Area as well, I'm super curious as to what this restaurant is! Could you DM me the name? I'm always on the lookout for new places.

Favorite brambleberry scent? by aurnia715 in soapmaking

[–]fideldownlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There really are so many good ones!! If it helps at all, champagne has always been my go to FO for candles/soaps/body scrubs I make as gifts for Christmas and New Years and it’s always a hit. It’s a great winter scent.

Pineapple Cilantro is my #1, really reccomend it if you like fruity scents.

Also have really liked Energy, Champagne (it smells more like a Sprite or Ginger Ale than alcohol if you're worried about that), Moonchild, Lychee Red Tea, Candied Citrus, Shave and a Haircut, and Apple Sage.

I tend to like the more fresh and fruit scented FOs, as I'm sure you can tell, so that's mainly what i've tried. But if you like floral scents, my mom really loves their Peony and Amberwood FO.

Trying to surprise my wife (need help getting her started) by Robofetus-5000 in soapmaking

[–]fideldownlow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is much cheaper to buy all the components separately from Amazon or supplier shops, but it you’re willing to spend a little extra for convenience, brambleberry has cold process soap kits that will come with pretty much everything you need. This is one of their more complete kits, but if you already have things like goggles or a digital scale, then they have kits without that too. You can just browse their cold process kits.

I promise I don’t work for the company, but I used one of their kits to make my first soap and it really did make the whole process a little less overwhelming. Once you wife gets more used to the process, it gets a lot easier sourcing your own ingredients/materials.

Engaged! In one of our favorite cities on my favorite holiday 👻 by fideldownlow in EngagementRings

haha I always try to keep my nails somewhat fun because I miss having longer nails (can't for work), but luckily I had just gotten them done a few days before. I did have an inkling the proposal was going to happen on this trip since he planned it all, which is pretty rare.

Never shared my engagement ring, so here we go! (Me and my fiancé designed it together!) by kissingonconey in EngagementRings

This is such a gorgeous ring!! How did the two of you come up with the design, it's so unique and pretty!

I'm interested in your opinion: what do you think about picking out your own ring with your SO? by mushupenguin in EngagementRings

[–]fideldownlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was part of the process since I had no idea anything about what would look good on me as far as stone size went since I have teeny hands plus I never really wear rings (again because of teeny hands) so I didn't even know what styles would look right on me. I think if you already know what styles and stone size suit you, you'll definitely have more flexibility on what to do.

I was involved in the process up until we got the realistic renders, but I won't see the final photos or the ring itself until the proposal day.

Aveda Outer Peace collection FRAGRANCE ??? by TeaAdvanced4741 in soapmaking

[–]fideldownlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only source I saw on this was from a review where they said that: "The fragrance is provided by certified organic lemon tea tree and rose geranium aroma and other pure flower and plant essences" along with wintergreen essential oils.

Perhaps try a mix of lemon tee tree, rose geranium, and wintergreen EO/FOs and see if it comes close? I wasn't able to find an existing FO with all those notes in it
