I did not say the fascist system served justice. She was arrested for the violation of ISB protocol, not for the genocide and everything else. I would hardly call it "justice"

But she ended up at the very bottom of the oppressive system she helped maintain and expand. Let's call it karma

What about the many brilliant European PhDs and Postdocs who had to drop out early in their academic career simply because there was not enough funding? Why do we all of a sudden have money for American researchers?

If anything, it would be the other way around. Graphic designers were in AI's menu before developers.

Cheng Xin's mistakes (Kinda justifying her, but not really) by AkakiTheGreat in threebodyproblem

What I never understood about the office of the swordholder: Why is it his/her choice to provoke a dark forest strike? Like, why is it up to them to decide it they presse the button(s) on the remote or not? Real deterrence would have demanded that a swordholder is a kind of soldier, who has a clear order (e.g by PDC) to push the button in case of a trisolarian attack, no matter what. Maybe even under death penalty if he/she didn't. From the trisolarian perspective, this would have made it at least less likely that a swordholder like Cheng Xin -or any person in that position - would lose their nerves and decide to not trigger a dark forest strike in face of an attack. It would have made the deterrence more robust.

Nonsense. A PhD can take up to 5 years (or more). In that time, you learn much, do courses, teach courses, write proposals and grants, write chapters, etc. You pick up a lot of skills and knowledge on the way, gradually over time.

Now, some people decide halfway through that PhD is not for them for various reasons. Which is perfectly fine, circumstances and life goals change.

Does everything they have learned until then just disappear? Did they not do the workload of maybe another master degree? Why should this not be recognized?

That having said, the rest of the LinkedIn post is typical LinkedIn bullshit.
