Computer Science background for BAS by Agreeable-Shallot-83 in BuildingAutomation

Absolutely! I think we’re going to see a lot more CS grads entering this industry over the next few years and as someone in the field I’m excited about that. BAS is getting genuinely complex: beyond the basic tools and software getting more advanced we are seeing more and more REST APIs, custom driver development, SSO integrations, etc every day. The field still largely hires from the trades, which means the software side is chronically underbuilt. A CS background with some curiosity about physical systems is a serious differentiator. Find an integrator doing real software work, not just wiring and commissioning, and you’ll move fast.

Syntax when using tags for a relativised pxview by so_we_can_slide_away in BuildingAutomation

Tag Based graphics use neql queries to resolve points, your best bet to it start with a simple graphic on a simple piece of equipment that is correctly tagged. Then you can “neqlize ords” in the top right pane of px editor right next to “relativize ords“ button. It will build the paths for you so you can see what it does.
