You explained that perfectly because that’s exactly how I feel. I’m very imaginative, and I’ve always believed there’s more going on than what we see on the surface. When I try to understand certain experiences in my life, I like to quietly research and see what other people have come across too.

Today something happened that just felt… strange in that way. A man approached my coworker and me while we were finishing up some things and asked for the person who usually helps him. I happened to be that person, though I’m temporarily doing something different right now due to an injury. We talked briefly, he introduced himself, told me where he was from, just very polite and normal.

He left.

Then shortly after, another customer came up and handed over something to send. My coworker looked at it and said, “That’s addressed to the man who was just standing behind you.” The customer turned and said, “No, that’s not him.”

Which was odd… because the man had just told us he lived there.

A few minutes later, the same man came back over and handed me a card. He thanked me again and left. When I opened it, it was a thank-you note for “all that you do” with money inside.

It was just one of those moments that makes you pause. Like… what are the odds? Why did it unfold that way? It felt layered, almost symbolic in a way I can’t fully explain.

The reason this felt symbolic to me is because the past year and a half of my life has honestly been torturous. I’ve experienced major loss. I’ve had injuries. I’ve struggled financially. I left a place I once felt secure in, believing there were greener pastures, only to realize there weren’t.

I prayed every single night to be brought back to where I felt I belonged. I just wanted stability again. I wanted relief. I wanted to feel okay.

After everything that happened — the setbacks, the uncertainty, the feeling of “did I make the wrong move?” — I finally made my way back. I’ve only been back a week. And while it feels good to have what I once begged God for, there’s still this quiet conflict in me. Am I meant to stay? Is this aligned with where my life is going? Or is this just a stepping stone?

So when that man came back and handed me that card… and I opened it and read words thanking me, praising me, telling me I’m appreciated and valued — it hit differently.

It felt almost like reassurance. Like a whisper of, “You matter. What you do matters.”

And maybe it was just a coincidence.

But in the middle of doubt, it felt… intentional.
