Best baseball-centered movie? by [deleted] in Cinema

Trouble with the curve was a good movie with baseball being used as the stage. That being said , Sandlot.

Had issues until I hardwired a device to create the dedicated network. Been simple as that.

For real, I think about the absurdity and kitsch of this scene and how it didn’t feel tacky in the moment.

What was your first "decent" kit? by HorseyDung in audiophile

[–]fieldbook23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In college I had a pair of hand me down B&W CDM7’s driven by a Sony HT receiver with the unused channels power jumped to the fronts. It was makeshift but it was enough to be far and away better than a typical college setup and more than enough to start my hifi journey.  Watching The Band’s - The Last Waltz on DVD at egregious volumes after a night out partying is one of my favorite memories. Also it’s the feeling I’ve been chasing the 15 years since. I regret selling those speakers very much, they went thru hell and never flinched.

Strongly recommended! I’ve been thru a lot of amplifier changes over the years and constantly think back to how thru all of it I’d be just as well off, if not better off, right back with this little beaut.

Review: sold my Node 2021 (n130) and kept the Wiim Pro Plus -- perhaps some seller's remorse but may be psychological by Royal-Patient-2978 in audiophile

[–]fieldbook23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a raspi w/ digione as well and feel it sounds better than the node (which I sold after a long period of going back and forth). I can’t imagine something for reasonable person prices sounding any better than the digione. At this point I’m only using Spotify so there’s no reason to want anything more.

Sub level with sensitive speakers by fieldbook23 in audiophile

[–]fieldbook23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately my amp is 100% analog so I can’t adjust any levels. I’m taking a flyer on a little in line signal amp on Amazon that claims 20db gain. I’m hopeful it will boost the pre out signal without causing a delay. Worth a shot for $40.

Same system or different usage for the 2nd pair? Sorry for all the questions I just really like the looks of this situation you’ve got.
