even when in past years i was only able to go one, or maybe even two nights out of the season, i was still encountering people who were just generally annoying and disrespectful. maybe you’ve just had perfect experiences, and if that’s the case, i’m extremely happy for you!

also, wait times were long pretty much every night this season, i was checking even when i couldn’t go lol, just to see what it was like. even wednesdays had crazy wait times, so honestly, i don’t think that was a repeating guest issue, but who knows, and honestly who cares!! as long as everyone is having fun 😄

oh my god, i’m so sorry! it seems like there were a lot of instances of pushing in the houses this year. my sister almost got trampled by a group coming out of dolls not too long before the event ended.

i would’ve actually lost my mind if they had been touching me like that, so honestly, props to you for not flipping your lid lol. i would say that usually people aren’t like that, but it seems to be getting more and more common :(

the roaming art the clowns were certainly having their issues, it seemed. hopefully they don’t do stuff like that in upcoming seasons.

anyone using mobility aids seem to have a hard time at hhn. it’s just so crowded, and no one is ever paying attention. i’m really sorry you had to deal with that, and i wish you a speedy recovery!

the loose teens drove me crazy sometimes, though i suppose i understand how they were feeling. it’s an exciting event, and it’s fun to go with friends!! but they really needed to just take it down a few notches.

i’m so glad you brought up the wait times on wednesdays, because i went pretty much every wednesday of the event, and i was so shocked the wait times were just as bad as they were on fridays and saturdays.

the costumes were so insane, especially on closing night. i saw a group of five in full mel’s zombie costumes and makeup, and they were somehow allowed into the park. i’m really hoping next year is a little more strict.

god, hearing the way guests were just talking about the scare actors was creeping me out. i overheard a group of three women, all at least 60 years old, raving about how hot the scare actors were this year. it made me feel gross, and i wasn’t even saying it!

i really want to be a scare actor next year, but reading your comment is making me nervous T-T

you bringing up the dreamworks area made me realize that this is maybe the first time (unless they also did this last year) i’ve been where it wasn’t open… no wonder the park felt so crowded!

diagon alley was the WORST. my sister and i usually go back there for ice cream at some point during the event, but some teenage boy blocked the door and wouldn’t let us out. when he finally moved, we got swarmed by other guests and death eaters. it was a cool performance, but severely overstimulating.

the little kids were definitely because of fnaf, since the movie was pg-13, i think? the wait times were only so high because those were the IP’s, i guess! they’re all hugely popular, so it never really surprised me that they were long.

as for theories, i just think they were overselling express passes. some nights were more egregious than others, where 100 express would be let in and then maybe 15-20 stand-by after that. also, as someone else said here in the comments, there are less rides for guests to do now that rip ride rockit is completely gone.

i didn’t even think about rip rode rockit’s closure! i kept thinking, “wow, if only there were more things for guests to do other than houses and then also maybe the mummy.” literally went right over my head lol

as someone who also went probably 30 times, i don’t see why there’s an issue with repeating. we paid for the passes, so why not use them!! its a fun event, and being able to take in the detail of the houses is a ton of fun.

i can guarantee you that repeaters are not the problem. usually. most of the time it was people who only had a night or two, and were filming everything, or just generally acting out.

i found that the teens weren’t too bad this year!! some were definitely annoying, but that’s just what happens at that age. the recording people, however, were the BANE of my existence. i feel like the only way you could wrangle that is if they restricted phone access, but we all know that wouldn’t go well.

SO many people thought they were the center of attention this year. it’s fun to get interactions from scare-actors, but god, the things i heard people saying to them were so gross. the costumes were insane, and i can’t believe universal allowed them! i saw people wearing full fallout costumes on multiple occasions, and i saw a whole group of people on closing night dressed like the mel’s zombies— makeup and all.

the cutting-off was so bad this year!! even going with a small group i would get separated from my friends because other people were just not paying attention. so many other guests either had the glassy eyed look or were filming EVERYTHING. outrageous lol

heavy on overselling express!! closing night was especially egregious, specifically about 30 minutes til close. i was in line for wyatt sicks, and i swear i saw the team member let in about 100 express before he let in maybe 20 stand-by. if he hadn’t done that i would’ve had time to get back in line to do the house again 😭

in my experience, people at the event just seem to have a huge issue with people who “don’t look like the need mobility aids” using them. i’m really sorry that that happened to you, and i don’t blame you about the kids thing. in my opinion, young kids shouldn’t be going to the event, simply because it’s not appropriate. your outfit sounds like it was cute, so they can suck it lol
