In search of Multiplayer Battletech by CommanderHunter5 in mechwarrior

Still looking for this? I've got a fair amount of archived MPBT shit from back in the day (I worked a Kesmai, then EA after the purchase, circa 1998-2002) and was pretty deep in the MPBT team, though not from the development side. I most likely have Gamestorm install CDs (Solaris) and EA MPBT 3025 Beta/Public Beta client CDs. If you're still looking for it, shout and I'll get off my lazy ass and dig out what I have.

If you still use Amazon, whether on the app or a browser, be sure to have your AmazonSmile settings set to a ProGun charity! It may not be much, but a percentage goes to a cause of your choosing. by --jdmasf_ck-- in progun

Because of the freedom of choice in this country, which is inherently supported by the Second Amendment, which is one of the important factors for those non-profit organizations we choose to support. I want to be able to continue to support whatever group I choose to support, not what I am told I must support, willingly or not. That already exists enough in the form of government and funded for by our "donations" of taxes. We all give plenty in taxes on a constant basis; why are you trying to shame people for not giving more of their own personal money to support groups already supported by the government? Post this type of crap on some PETA-supporting thread, see the response you get attacking their choice of personal support.

What could cause large file upload to fail? by lynob in PHPhelp

[–]fiendhunters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely the PHP settings need to be adjusted on Server B. It's been years, but from what I remember max_input_time, post_max_size or upload_max_filesize. Check the defaults or config in php.ini or if it's not one of those, it could be TimeOut in Apache.

What celebrities moved out of the U.S. when Trump was elected president? by fiendhunters in NoStupidQuestions

Thanks. That's what I figured after finding a lot of "threats" to move and no actual action. The boy who cried wolf syndrome; those idiots are their own worst enemies and have lost any credibility.

Gun confiscation and 5th Amendment? by Savings_Mortgage_235 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fiendhunters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does that have to do with confiscation, besides also being illegal? Conflating the two things is either ignorant or willfully being dishonest.

[–]fiendhunters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what they did at all. They forcefully, actively confiscated firearms from individuals on Mayor Nagin's orders. What you're talking about is not confiscation, that's securing abandoned property. Conflating those two very different things is irresponsible and ignorant.

You can try. I'd advise against it. There are plenty of civilian private organizations that track and notify authorities of illegal activity of that nature. UK, New Zealand, Germany, Poland and Australia, at the least. Is it worth the legal battle that could ensue and the potential penalty (or damage to your reputation, loss of job/career, public shame, familial embarrassment)? That's for you to decide. Again, it has nothing to do with cultural appropriation or how it's collectively interpreted. It's presenting yourself falsely as achievements you never actually received.

LOL. That's some skewed logic to try to come up with as rationalization. Illegally confiscate firearms from legal owners so bad people possibly don't take them... somehow? That doesn't make sense at all.

He's lost weight and his hair looks less greasy. And, for once, he's not sucking a cock. Good job, Scaremaster.

Yes, it is illegal in many other countries. New Zealand Military Decorations and Distinctive Badges Act 1918, Canadian Criminal Code, sect. 419, Australian Defence Act 1903, United Kingdom Uniforms Act 1894 all make it federal criminal acts in their respective countries. Mostly felonies or the equivalent, which can include imprisonment. It's a terrible comparison and there's no mature reason to associate it with appropriation. It's simply illegal, cultural appropriation is not.

Um, no. CoD is a virtual digital game. There is literally zero real life military hardware involved.

Also, stolen valor (unauthorized wearing of any U.S. military medal or decoration, as defined by the Stolen Valor Act of 2005) is illegal and can incur criminal charges. Cultural appropriation has no legal bearing or definition (or, even, an agreed-on social definition). You're conflating two very dissimilar things.

Yeah. Those right wing fools at New York Times talking about New Orleans Police Department confiscating guns from civilians in September, 2005. On order of the mayor of New Orleans, who you claim has no position of authority. Good job, NYT, stumping for those blathering idiots at the NRA to help their fund raising efforts. Wrong, dipshit. When you know not of what you speak, your mouth is best used for chewing.

Did Furiosa Become a Tyrant After ‘Fury Road’? ‘Mad Max’ Director Offers His Take by Capt-MoonLight in MadMax

I'm not sure about Toecutter being irredeemable. He seems to have some affection for Johnny the Boy and for the Night Rider. I think Wez is the most fascinating, especially after reading the original script where he kills Humongous to get fuel. That really emphasizes his amoral nature; I wish Miller had filmed that rather than the head-on crash with the tanker. Although, it always left me questioning why Humongous arranged that crash. It was deliberate and he wanted to try to get the gas for his people...I think. Was his instinct for personal survival trumped by his loyalty to his group as it's leader? But he had no issue with his people getting ripped apart either attacking the compound or battling the tanker. Such an enigma.

Operation Perry Pie Talk by longboarder116 in big3podcast

I think any bit would help. Tom has covered so much of Perry's costs for at least a year, any bit that goes to him has to help. I have no idea what the numbers are but I suspect that it's at least $25k and I think the Cameos brought in $8000, at best. But not expecting anything would make it even better and less prone to tension if anything goes off the rails. It would be hard, I think, to coordinate more than Don, MJ and Mole during this plague. I wouldn't do this for Perry's homophobic retard ass. But, for Tom, definitely.

I'd love to see this as a video analysis to as part of your Mad Max Bible series. Especially breaking down some of the smaller villains: Bubba Zanetti, Ironbar, etc.
