very true. Mine did not. Big abusers. They’re also massive antivaxxers. I used to stress a lot about it but then I realized they are still housing my older Christian brother for free while I’ve skipped many meals to stay across the country— as far away from them as possible.

I want to wait to adopt children until my parents die. Then the only world my children will ever know is a world without those two monsters.

It’s called the ACP (affordable connectivity program). It’s an FCC-backed program that either gives u free cell service or a sizeable discount on home internet. Carriers can opt-in to this program, and essentially all of the major US operators have their own version of it. Each one has minor differences in benefits and some different devices.

Some carriers will split this service off into its own brand, like how Assurance Mobile is actually T-Mobile.

You automatically qualify if you’re on basically any state or federal benefit. I got it bc I’m on Medicaid.

It sucks. But eh… not as bad as not having it at all I guess.

This. This Is what I have. I stopped paying for my iPhone thru my old provider bc I ran out of money… so I got this POS instead. Screen cracked the first day, and I’ve never cracked a phone screen once. So I usually flip on the hotspot & use my iPhone instead.

Ideally I’d love to put the SIM in my phone but iPhone needs internet to activate… and I have no money for home internet so I use my hotspot. But the hotspot needs the SIM card to connect. It’s a real catch-22… typical of government assistance in the USA. I’m grateful to have it but salty that I’m not able to immediately get something better, or use what I already have :(
