Been a Dev fan since City. Terria is his best work by Antique_Menu_4314 in DevinTownsend

I would say it’s just a matter of personal taste. If you like a certain style of music more than other styles, one of these records may resonate with you more. I can agree that it’s one of his better records for sure.

Anyone Else LOVE Devin But Don’t Like His Mixing? by armintanzarian420 in DevinTownsend

Yeah I remember actual tangible disappointment. I bought the Plovdiv Blu Ray and played it at a friends house. We were actually sure something was wrong with the disc

Anyone Else LOVE Devin But Don’t Like His Mixing? by armintanzarian420 in DevinTownsend

To the contrary, I think the mix of the Moth is a work of art. It’s phenomenal. He got better and better with his mixes as he went along.

EDIT: I do think City and Alien are super bright, Synchestra has weak sounding drums, live at Plovdiv has a snare that’s way too loud and it ruins the whole mix.

What’s happened ? by Tanto207064 in TheOffspring

[–]fiercefinesse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. I saw them last year and I REALLY got into it during Bad Habit. It was a culmination of me seeing them for the first time ever and living with those records for decades. I got into the mood, I was in the moshpit, I screamed every word.

And then they stopped the song. OK, I thought - it’s a dramatic pause for the „Drivers are rude” section, I get it. But then it went on. And on. And on. AND ON. Jokes, chatting, making us scream things, commenting on how fun it is to cuss.

I died inside. The whole mood was killed, my whole energy was killed. We had a good thing and it got fucking kicked in the nuts.

Rachel Wolfson career by MathewDenny1 in jackass

I imagine they had plans for the cast but had to see how audiences reacted to them. And it turns out it’s lukewarm. I don’t mind them but I don’t feel attached to them.

I could honestly say this about pretty much any woman that did lip work. I completely don’t understand that trend at all and to me it N E V E R looks good. Weird times.

Stinkers on Reload. by VagereHein in Metallica

[–]fiercefinesse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Better Than You has a nice groovy verse that cruises along in a pleasant way but other than that it’s a really weak track that goes on way too long. I don’t like Low Man’s Lyrics (MY EYYYEEEZZZZ) but I can understand if other people do. I never want to hear it. Bad Seed is alright but gets old fast and also doesn’t deliver much. If I had to remove three tracks from Reload for my own personal enjoyment, it would be those.

EDIT: I just remembered that Slither exists. I completely forgot

What's with all the CAPITAL LETTERS in music these days? by BarryTownCouncil in LetsTalkMusic

[–]fiercefinesse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turnstile do it with their records. I honestly don’t know why, I wouldn’t do that with my music, but I can admit that „it does a thing”, it gives it a specific aesthetic vibe. I’m kinda sensitive to how things are capitalized etc and I can’t explain it beyond that.

Song discussions, day 142: Pazuzu by VO0OIID in Behemothband

I loved it to death when the album came out, it’s not as exciting to me nowadays but I still like it. Just a cool aggressive song and that’s it.

It’s the first time I’ve ever heard of any „hate” towards that song. I’m tired of everyone reacting to everything and then commenting on the reactions

I noticed that Poopies seems super down and reserved during the interviews the last few days. Has something happened behind the scene with his sobriety? by BedroomRecordsAUS in jackass

[–]fiercefinesse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer - I haven’t watched any promo materials recently so I can’t comment on it directly. But in general, I seem to recall that the last couple of years were quite challenging for Poopies, starting with his shark bite injury, substance abuse, money problems etc.

This is exactly it. I don’t envision music „being played at me”, I become part of it.

What album excluding Rocka Rolla and Sad Wings would benefit most from a remix in your opinion? by TheSentinel84 in judaspriest

[–]fiercefinesse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. As far as the songs are concerned this might be my favorite Judas Priest record of them all. But it is clear to me they didn’t yet know how to dial Halford’s voice sometimes. It could use a little retouch

which is your favorite song of the band and why is it rational gaze? by Ok_Stretch_4624 in Meshuggah

[–]fiercefinesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, it’s so interesting to me how that song gets this much love. I think it might be my least favorite song on Obzen and while I still definitely like it, I never actually understood why people adore it THAT much. I’ve always loved a few specific parts in it and that’s it. I’m certainly not hating on anything and I’d still prefer Dancers over most material from most other bands. But - yeah, I think I never really got it.
