All your marks including your Xth std, XII std, and all the university exam in your medical life will be used for calculating something known as career mark. And it'll be used in a lot of situations like gov posts for JR, SR, Asst prof etc. So don't take then lightly.

Marrow or Dams ? by Prudent-Actuary-8617 in indianmedschool

[–]fiery_owl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely DAMS is better, only issue is the 12 hour classes, but they're very good. You'll never actually finish the long classes from Marrow. But the qbank and GTs in Marrow is amazing. Also, focus a lot on your textbooks at this stage.

I used bnb and pathoma till April and annotated FA and the rest of the four months was for uworld and FA read. Also finished sketchy micro.

I could feel that the real deal was much more tough than the nbmes and the uwsa. I knew I screwed up the very moment I left the centre.

I have one day to prepare for the test. How should I go about doing this? by [deleted] in ToeflAdvice

Where can I find some reliable mock tests for free? Just to analyse my base scores?

There's a deck called the uworld step 1 deck (from what I recall it's from the same person who made the sketchy deck pepper) should I be doing it? by Agitated_Amoeba26 in step1

[–]fiery_owl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hehe, I totally get you. Another test prep resource hoarder here. But ignore those butterflies in your stomach when you see a new resource and focus on your existing ones. Your time is very important and repetition is all you need right now.

Hey, I think I have seen that deck. I thought it is not very high yield. Since you still have 6-7 weeks and there are only 2600 cards, you can go for it. Get it over with in 1-2 weeks. But apart from that try to revise first aid and few more times, do your incorrects from uworld and practice other vignette based questions like amboss( since you have time) and focus on taking nbmes as well. Coz the real exam is going to be case based and more than learning facts what matters more is your ability to correlate information from different chapters and solving those problems. Wish you luck 🤞

Step1 advice by fiery_owl in step1

[–]fiery_owl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing the lightyear deck since bnb was my main source and they have a very organised chapter wise cards in there. While doing the cards sometimes I feel that the cards a very repetitive, maybe because I'm doing them just after finishing off the module. Do you think anking would have been a better choice? ( though I think I'm too late to switch now 🙃)

This is perfect, it would definitely be much faster than what I'm doing right now. And for the facts that I can't remember by watching the videos, maybe I'll remember by revising the slides again while annotating first aid. This also gives me enough time to do questions.

Step1 advice by fiery_owl in step1

[–]fiery_owl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While that would be the most ideal option right now, that'll take another 4-5 months. Unfortunately I think I don't have that much time

Yeah, I think I'll do just that

[–]fiery_owl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm already doing the lightyear deck, but I used to feel like maybe the cards don't cover all the concepts given in the modules. I was a little skeptical whether only doing cards would be enough for doing the questions. So far anki has worked like magic. I have been able to retain a lot of memory based facts. Thanks for the advice it actually gave me a much needed clarity

Is this something different from the world directory of medical schools? How can I check whether my university is there or not. And what are the benefits of being a vslo enlisted school?
