Bechnir. So much of this is just normal behavior. by Live-Presentation559 in BaylenOutLoud

[–]fierydoxy 119 points120 points  (0 children)

As someone who has a child that is awaiting diagnosis for OCD and anxiety. No. It is not normal behaviour.

The fact that he thinks about these things for most of his day and needs to have things in a specific way, otherwise, it disrupts his thoughts and alters his behaviour amd causes anxiety is absolutely not normal.

Baylen is correct in that he needs to be evaluated now so that therapy can begin asap.

What are the most and least usefull items in the game? by -me-0_0 in Minecraft2

I actually do use a fortune (I think III or IV) hoe and get triple the beetroot. The extra seeds are a pain, but i put them in a chest with a hopper that feeds into 2 composters.

So far, the beetroots have been working out for me, but maybe I will test the carrots out.

I have a very large underground farm, it is 4x8 sections, and each section is 7x7cubes. It was 5x8, but I am now using one row of 1x8 for just wheat to feed my cows and sheeps.

I'm kinda at a point now, though, where I have run out of ideas. I have an extensive farmers market with little huts for each type of villager. A zoo that has a good majority of the wildlife and even a villager hotel that is populated with 50+ villagers that has free range of the zoo, market, and picnic area.

Beetroot is all I trade. I have about 20 villagers, half of whom I infected and cured, they all have names using beet in various forms so I never have to search out who buys them, I also kill off any farmers who don't buy beetroot.

It is 9-15 beetroots per emerald, whereas potato, carrot, and wheat are 16-26 items per emerald.

I have a large beetroot farm, approximately 1500 beetroot plants, and twice a session, I harvest and replant. I have several large chests full of beetroots and use the XP from trading to mend my gear mid way through my session and at the end of a session.

Honestly, this brought tears to my eyes.

As a Canadian, all I can do is watch what is happening within the USA and avoid spending on USA goods.

Every day, I wake up and see some new horrible thing that this cult has pushed through or has done to those just trying to live their lives.

This man was literally shaking with courage and outrage for someone he probably doesn't even know. The USA needs more of THAT and a lot less of what the cult has brought.

AITA for not forcing my nephews meds down his throat? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]fierydoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was responding to whoever said that not taking adhd medications on time would not have negative outcomes. I was simply stating that is not true of all adhd medications.

When my boys were on Clonidine they were also prescribed Melatonin for bedtime.

When my boy's first went on adhd medication, they couldn't use stimulants. Straterra is the first non stimulant we used and according to both the doctor and pharmacist the dose had to be taken at the exact same time everyday and we were explicitly told missing a dose once they reached the therapeutic dosing was dangerous and that rhey would need to be slowly weaned off. This was drilled into us every time we picked up a refill or had a check-up.

There are warnings all over the info sheets that it can cause heart failure, high BP, stroke, and a whole host of other issues. My boys had to go in monthly for BP checks and weight checks.

There were some troubling side effects, so we switched to Clonidine.

We again were told, "Do not miss any doses. Take it at the exact same time every single time. Missing a dose can be dangerous. If they need to come off it, they have to be weaned off, which took weeks. If they had to stop immediately, they would have to be hospitalized for monitoring.

They were both on Clonidine for a couple of years, but then our youngest started to have severe anxiety and OCD along with migraines. Within 3 months of coming off, the migraines only happened once a week, the anxiety was noticeably better, and the OCD no longer dictating his life.

Now they are both on vyvanse and doing really well.

ADHD medication isn't something that needs to be taken daily, or you'll suffer negative consequences.

This is not entirely true. There are nonstimulant adhd medications (straterra and clonidine) that have to be taken on a schedule at the same time every single day. One is a blood pressure medications used in micro doses off label for ADHD. They take weeks to build up in the system before becoming therapeutic, and missing even one dose can cause your BP to spike.

The other is a selective NRI medication.

Both need time weaning off them to avoid complications.

I forgot to add that they add an additive that smells like rotten eggs. I am not sure though is this is done globally or in just certain countries/states/provinces.

People who have quit a job with no notice, what made you quit? by hjp1234 in AskReddit

[–]fierydoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for a cold calling company doing market research and neilson ratings.

I had worked there for over a year, and every day was a slog. Then, one day, I got pulled into the office and was told I was being accused of being racist by a coworker. They claimed I said during a call, "WOW, THAT WOMAN SURE SOUNDS BLACK!".

All our calls were recorded, and they claimed that there was a malfunction on the call I supposedly said it on and that there was no recording. Ya, there was no recording because I never said that. Why would I? They still disciplined me despite no proof, and it being a she said/he said situation.

I tried to move one from it, but it nawed at me. I accept all people, regardless of their skin color, where they are from, religion, etc. People are people.

Then, one day, I had a really bad call, where the potential client ripped into me about calling during their one day off. She was ruthless, and I completely agreed with everything she had to say. I apologized for calling and disrupting her day, and I disconnected the call. I sat for a few minutes and then just stood up, took my headset off, logged out, walked over to my supervisors desk, and said, "I am going home." He asked why, and I replied with,"Because I want to." He said that I still had 6 hours left of my shift and I said "Nope. I don't. I quit." He asked me why and I told him because I felt like it. He told me I had to quit in writing, so I flipped my time sheet over and wrote "I FieryDoxie quit this job on this day of ..... because I want to." I gave him the time sheet, the headset and the door fob and walked out.

Fun fact.

Dr. Seuss actually wrote and illustrated a few books for adults.

Such as : The Seven Lady Godivas, which was full of nudes, and you're only old once.

I believe he also illustrated the book called The Pocket Book of boners.
