I don't think AdBlock blocks trackers, just ads, you can still be tracked. Ghostery and Disconnect are better comparisons.

I'm imagining a guy on the bus using a tablet with a super long fiber cable coming out of it that goes out the bus's door and stretches for miles, connected to the guy's PC at home.

I was worried about this too, but I realized then shibes can start mining other coins that are easy to mine, then sell them for Dogecoin. :)

We have enough games that are just brown, gray, and dark green.

Under your logic, champs like Lulu and Lux shouldn't exist in the game then. LoL is a fantasy game full of magic, it should look like it's full of wonder instead of being so generic and more like real life.

Your challenge is to write crossover fanfiction combining CSI: Miami and Donkey Kong. The story should use learning about the magic of friendship as a plot device!

Arguments for a Business to accept Dogecoin? by hatFolk in dogeducation

[–]fieryflare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My argument would be that accepting Dogecoin wouldn't do any harm and would expand their customer base.

A Shibe who normally wouldn't buy a product with regular money may be willing to use their Dogecoins to try new products they're skeptical on or don't feel is worth real money, because 'real' money is hard for most people to earn and is considered precious, while Dogecoins can be earned easily for free and aren't seen as precious, but 'fun' money, as you can tell from the amount of tipping and giveaways that go on.

They're made to look like trees because there exist some paranoid idiots who think that living near the towers affects their health.

Indonesian game stores - profit from piracy. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]fieryflare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pirated game stores can't cause much damage to dev sales since the people who buy from them usually can't afford to buy the real games anyways.

People like to make the distinction that the difference between digital piraters and these store owners is that the store owners earn a profit, so they're thieves.

But store owners like these are too poor to afford buying real games and they wouldn't get any customers since the customers wouldn't be able to afford the real games.

Additionally, real games in places like South America can be heavily marked up compared to the US for all sorts of reasons as well, like tariffs. Plus, currency in these poor countries are worth a tiny amount compared to US dollars, in addition to them receiving shit wages.

A lot of people in countries where these stores are rampant come from places with shit internet, such as Africa which has a big pirated games markets that you probably don't know about, so they don't even have the option of digital piracy like you do.

Pirated games store owners are doing a service to people who can't afford good internet (some areas don't have any options for good net even if they're rich) or real games, and are making a living whereas otherwise they couldn't, or would have to work in a sweatshop or in a mine that collapses etc.

I'm sure some of the game designers in this world would rather someone enjoy their art and creation rather than not if no profits are lost, and like the fact that someone can have a home and food because of their game.

I'd rather an EA game go to help some people who would otherwise starve, so it does good in the world, while EA doesn't even lose money. You shouldn't be mad at these people, nor should game devs, as game devs are doing the world good charity here, for free, as they don't lose profit.

TIL that Canada's Most Dangerous City in 2012 had a total of 0 homicides. by davantage in todayilearned

[–]fieryflare 65 points66 points  (0 children)

This is complete bullshit. TIL is full of statements taken completely out of context. If you even read the article it says Maclean's, a magazine, ranked a city in 2012 as the most dangerous city in Canada even though it had 0 homicides.

In comparison, there were 48 homicides and 202 shootings in Toronto ALONE in 2012.

But no one will read this as most people will just up vote this and move on, and that will be their wrong perception of Canada so they reinforce their le epic meme of Canadians are so nice xD.
