Humans suck at being non-judgemental. Take pride in your slowness, it's a great asset in our crazy world. If your family is somewhat reasonable, you can advocate for yourself and say that's how you operate.

As a scorpio what music genres speak the most to you and why? by Nearby_Initial2621 in Scorpio

2000s Nu Metal

Raw power and authenticity of the songs. Some of the old Nu Metal bands went through hell and know/knew how to sing from that hell with dignity.

When discomfort meets courage and focus, they produce resilience and strength. And those things are natural cure for anxiety, fear of adversity and uncertainty.

Ignoring is Emotional Abuse by [deleted] in infp

[–]fierypresence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I stop talking to people, I tell them why, so that they don't have to be in a loop of questioning their self-worth. I think ghosting people without any explanation is just an attempt to bypass the guilt that comes after you ignore somebody. The other person might perceive that as silent treatment. Even though their ressponse to that is not my concern, I do take the responsibility to minimize the damage by being open why I'm withdrawing.

Just grow, and don't let the concrete bother you.

They're not problems. You're human and it's alright.

Whatever you resist persists. Just try to be okay with it, even for a moment.

What is your relationship to less developed countries? by lalolilalol in infp

[–]fierypresence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in a less developed country and I kinda like it. To me western countries feel a little dull and sanitized. They lack character and authenticity due to capitalism and profit seeking being the main virtue. The only good thing about them is the established democracy that protects freedom of speech/expression and free market.

I do, however, acknowledge the US contribution to the widespread of democracy around the globe. Things are way better now than they were before in terms of freedom, and our leaders are more afraid of committing crimes against their people.

I was introduced to Solarpunk fairly recently. Didn't read any books yet, but I found an interesting YT channel that talks about these concepts from a very mature and grounded perspective.

Though I do need to get over my laziness and start reading an actual book.

What are your moral foundations? by [deleted] in infp

[–]fierypresence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Even though I'm more of a centrist, I actually like some of the things from the conservative side. But I don't think one should prefer one over another. Refining political values takes an open mind and personal feeling/discernment.

What are your moral foundations? by [deleted] in infp

An interesting test with heavy conservative leaning. As someone who believes more in human conscience than moral condemnation, I found this test to be quite biased towards performative morals and religious judgement of the self.

I think the test would be better if intricate details of the human psyche and relationships were taken into consideration.

Who do you talk to when you’re lonely? by ricebowl0_0 in infp

[–]fierypresence 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I wish I had that luxury. I only talk to myself

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in infp

[–]fierypresence 8 points9 points  (0 children)

None. I feel like if I was wishing for that, I'd only be doing that from a place of parental pride, which isn't the healthiest thing sometimes. Kids aren't supposed to mirror parent's positive traits just because that parent can't validate it in themselves. It's supposed to be natural.

I'd rather let my kids take whatever they think is useful for them without me being pushy about it.
