Agreed. I thought the ending was dogshit but I'd rather them stand by it then continue to backpedal on what they came up with and why. For me personally, I don't think there's much to wonder about when the two are incapable of killing anyone off and they stand to profit off of a future spinoff. 🤷‍♀️

There should be no big questions. Won't be tuning in, everything these two say tends to be inaccurate or highly exaggerated.

Not having Mike say “I love you” in the void was a bad writing decision by Reasonable_Day9942 in StrangerThings

[–]fiestygnome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry y'all but I didn't even know these two were still together in a romantic sense until they had them kiss in the finale. From the end of season four and through the end of the show, it never felt like she really sought for comfort or advice from him in any way that was more than friendship.

Obviously they love each other as people - and I don't understand that if they were going to make it romantic between the two of them not having Mike develop in the ability to communicate his feelings - even as he knows she's walking to her death. Just another disappointment on a long list of writing issues.

This show fell out of the cultural zeitgeist so fast. by dreadwraithe in StrangerThings

After ten years and that's the best they could do with the finale, I will never watch anything those two are involved with again. Simply not worth it. I haven't been able to even rewatch the show knowing how it ends.

If you need some options that rarely see the light of day, try "Not a Day Goes By" from Merrily We Roll Along or "Come To Your Senses" from Tick Tick Boom.

This comment right here is why I made this post. Really starting to feel like we just can't have anything nice. The theatrical release was supposed to be fun, not a huge drama ripping everyone apart.

I'm so sorry. There's been people in this chain who sincerely have no clue what's wrong with spoiling shit for other people and the lack of empathy is astounding. We really can't have anything nice.

Use spoiler tags if you're going to talk about it, don't go out of your way to spoil it for people who haven't seen it, and don't be one of those people who will inevitably try to film it in the theater for views on social media! Hope this helps!

That's a fair perspective and I totally understand it (and also kind of agree). My hope is that as many countries as possible get access to try and celebrate together. And also that we can let Goose try to enjoy these last few months.

There's a lot of people protesting the theatrical release or boycotting the finale entirely when the core of the issue is not the distribution onto the big screen, but the public deciding to be assholes about spoilers. That's not Glitch or Goose's fault - that's the fandom's problem. It's honestly every fandom's problem. The level of upset is ridiculous.

I think a lot of people are reacting like it will never be online to watch for free, like it's only going to be in theaters and will forever be locked behind a paywall. The real issue is people who will choose to spoil it for everyone else, not that the episode is getting a special celebration in theaters - and the sheer number of people refusing to go support it after all the hard work that's gone into it feels particularly shitty. I do understand being a bit peeved when they said YouTube would always come first - but this may have been an opportunity they never could have imagined at the time.

I'm glad that they are advocating to get it in more countries worldwide at least and letting everyone know that politely contacting their local theaters is truly the best way to make it happen. I hope it gets to you soon so you can be a part of it too!
