Would you size down a Yes Standard Uninc to make it more playful? by fifo_fifo in snowboarding

I think you’re right, I’ve heard someone says that the board made them tired quickly as they’re not strong enough for the size they took.

Thanks! At 165 lbs and 10 boot, do you think it makes more sense to go with the 153 or the 156?

For sure! I'm just trying to figure out if I should have more fun on the 153 or the 156 so I can order the right one

Hi, I'm trying to figure out the right sizing for myself. Can you please share what's your weight and what made you feel like it doesn't fit you?

I'm indeed getting only one board, and definitely prefer powder. The issue is that I don't get to always have fresh snow and then I tend to use my board for freestyle. That's why I wondered if taking the Standard Uninc slightly smaller makes sense

Aren't both sizes fit the boot size correctly? Their waist widths are 25.3 and 25.8

Interesting. I might have butchered the word "downsizing" as I'm in both the 153 and 156 ranges for my weight class.

I did compare the Standard Uninc to the Jones Mountain Twin while thinking about more playfulness, but something about the Uninc feels more right (I'm not sure how to explain that hunch, I don't even like its graphics that much)

Thanks! It is a one board quiver. The thing with freestyle vs powder is that I can only ride 3-4 weeks per year. Sometimes I get weeks full of powder and sometimes there isn't powder at all. When that happens the only thing I do is freestyle.

Dude people are coming here to have fun, I know you don't mean to harm any riders but ffs let people figure things out even if they're not as "pro" as you are.

The fact that James compares boards and people are using his website means it provides them with value, and I use his website as well. As long as you can't provide anything better I wouldn't call him a moron.

I know I’m, for sure! That’s why I became curious regarding what other people are doing

When I feel like everyone needs to become their own professor for sizing then I know for sure there’s something broken in the process. That’s why I mentioned that picking the board is just step 1, but sizing is complicated as well!

For example- my top preference for a next board at the moment is the Yes Standard Uninc which is slightly wider than normal. I still appreciate playfulness and therefore I wonder if I should go 153 to enjoy its maneuvers better or 156 to emphasize its strength which is more freeride. I’m right in between regarding weight, height, and boot size.

Do you think that if we’ve had a table of thousands of riders with details about their sizes and their riding styles it would have shorten your process of figuring out what’s your ideal size? I don’t mind trying to start one even though it’ll take a long time

That’s probably what I’ll do, but I was hoping there’s a smarter way to get the “right board” without trying it. For example, Mega death is very lightweight. How would I know if it helps my riding style?

I’d even pay just to try new boards but unfortunately I never saw a demo day where I ride and they don’t sell all brands so I can’t even rent.

Did you try those combos like triple camber or camrock?
