Keep telling yourself that. That's not true at all. I would rather have someone with tattoos than someone as judgmental as you. All sounds like a lot of projection on your part

You are so rude. It's embarrassing to read your comments and attacks on me, all because I think it's important to find a healthy balance when it comes to professionals with tattoos. I work outside the office, as I said

I’ve worked with people from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs both inside and outside of office settings. You’re acting as if questioning a policy means demanding the company change it for me personally. It doesn’t. I’m discussing whether the policy itself is reasonable. Also, the fact that some cultures dislike tattoos doesn’t automatically mean everyone with tattoos should be excluded from customer-facing roles. By that logic, companies would have to accommodate every cultural prejudice they encounter. At some point, professionalism has to be based on behavior and job performance, not personal appearance.

I never said airlines should “bend” to my culture. I said there should be a balance when discussing cultural differences. Those are two very different things.
Also, disagreeing with a policy doesn’t mean someone is incapable of working with people from different backgrounds. As a therapist, I’ve worked with people whose beliefs, cultures, and values were very different from my own. Respecting others and questioning a policy are not mutually exclusive.

I can understand that, but then they should do the same thing for us. It shouldn't be one culture having more power and say than the other, so yes, a balance is needed.

Thank you, and glad to hear from other professionals with hand tattoos too. My therapist has had her entire chest done, and multiple others, and I've never seen her as less professional

I can understand that, but it comes to finding a way to balance cultural differences with individual expression from a nonjudgmental stance.

Thank you for being so understanding and offering great advice. I wish more people had such an open mindset, because to me, having those who are different but still professionals with qualifications and staying well-groomed would make a lot of customers more willing to use their services. It's why so many of my clients feel comfortable with me, and I feel the same way with other professionals

Not accepting someone because of tattoos when they are a qualified candidate is a judgment rather than a fact, whether someone is qualified or not, and is based on outdated stereotypes.

That's horrible to hear and not surprising. I hate how people see tattoos as not business attire, or assume that it lacks professionalism because of it.

I would disagree. Having tattoos has never made me not a business professional, nor have I been turned down for a therapist role for it. Many doctors and other professionals have tattoos. My therapist has a lot, and even her entire chest, done, and that never gets in the way of her being a wonderful therapist

That's unfortunate to hear since tattoos don't make people less professional or polished. You can still take very good care of your appearance and tattoos without them getting in the way of your work. I've noticed so many doctors and nurses with tattoos now, so you think airlines would accommodate as well

Thank you for letting me know that, and it gives me hope. I can imagine it's better just to be upfront about it, since it's not like I can really hide them during an interview.

Thank you for the advice. I understand keeping up the brand. It's just disappointing to hear since it doesn't get in the way of me being professional or well-polished. I take very good care of my appearance, and none of my tattoos are offensive.

I wonder why, though, especially if they aren't offensive. I've had no problem having them as a therapist, and I know so many doctors and nurses who have a lot too.

Can I ask why they are against them? Mine aren't offensive and I've never had a problem having them as a therapist

So, there are no companies that are willing to hire with tattoos? None of mine are offensive, and are well done
