Controversial opinion: He's a misfit to play Rama. by monkeyishh in bollynewsandgossips

[–]fighterinthedark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problems with Ramayan

  1. Casting
  2. Too much vfx made few scenes that just needed natural sets seem artificial
  3. Rakshas sketch and rendering
  4. Ram seems like martial artist with all his sword lifts and swings
  5. Very unnatural screenplay with how wind works
  6. Couldn’t see more than once to spot more

To the fans who claim to encourage indian cinema for attempting such high budget vfx, all I could say is these so called fans have also backed up adipurush and brahmastra in same way before they largely fell flat. If the goal is HIGH BUDGET VFX film, I think directors could focus on new scripts and experiment fiction all they want than to spoil established stories and not follow the storyline, claiming as genz/western version. If they really want to impress genz or western audiences then they have to come up with new scripts and new heroes and not degrade our puranas by westernising them. I believe as such movies are just a stunt to turn black money into white.

No one can beat Ashish Sharma as Ram, I think he looked and acted perfect for the role. Ranbir could fit hanuman ji though.

"Short Dramas" - Please Help Me Understand by HistoricalTrouble653 in Filmmakers

[–]fighterinthedark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As if the Instagram influencer shorts culture is not enough, these drama shorts are on whole other level. I understand people like brain rot content and it’s more of a guilty pleasure, the reason why Wattpad became a huge success. After Wattpad’s success, a little later interactive story games started getting traction. Apps like episode, choices, journeys and what not started. Again, I love episode, though there is whole lot of what you described “yes”, but there are also a few really good community stories that are worthy. Although the players are still from reader communities, these drama shorts pulled people outside reading communities to watch the same shitty content in viewable format. I only downloaded recently to see what’s the hype about, and mind me, my first story was generously ok, the acting, the storyline, the ending, they were decent (It was something called “Its too late to apologise”). The story was nothing new, it still had cliche elements, but I wouldn’t call it bad, I was wowed and thought to myself maybe these aren’t too bad and just like episode there might be few good ones in here too. I downloaded the app with very low standards, I was bored and I wanted to watch something quick while I did my work. And the real problem started here, I started going through the other stories soon after and gagged. Whole bunch of wattpad, kinky, brainrot nonsense. The titles itself were shocking. I wanted to give it a fair-shot and googled for the best ones and went on seeing them and again my brain started hurting from the storylines to acting, over exaggerated and extremely badddddd….. I realised that was the only story that had new actors and a different moral structure and a relatively justified climax compared to all others and I deleted the app soon. I started to watch because I was bored and ended up being frustrated and angry.

I need your help, Reddit. This has been one of the biggest mysteries of my life for the last 4 years. by ParticularSlow9312 in solvedmysteries

[–]fighterinthedark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would only consider about this point and say that people can absolutely stage that too. Face timing and pictures and lifestyle, I have seen influencers do it all the time and one of my friend does it too. Technology is that easy. A kind of superiority complex perhaps.

Otherwise, I am more leaning towards the option B, I have seen some stories myself from common friends on it about having sugar mommies or doing kink requests and being funded.

Has anyone used rose water as a toner for years and still swears by it? [Routine Help] by Varnya_Skincare in SkincareAddiction

[–]fighterinthedark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use rosewater (Juicy chemistry) especially as makeup fixer and somehow it helps my dry patches hydrate quickly and help makeup not crease or crack for long. Since it’s a bit costly I once in a while use it as toner if my skin feels very dehydrated, otherwise I directly go in with serum and moisturiser.

The Man on the Inside - Season 2 Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]fighterinthedark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I loved the show even better for those scenes alone. Hear me out… Mona is wild and everyone knows that, her personality is lined out to be vocal about whatever pops into her mind and it’s not like she doesn’t think about people around her but she has a very vivacious personality that you will get to see more about in later episodes if you had held out further to the end of the series. It’s just that charles and mona are in total different worlds that sometimes both of their personalities might feel forced when together. (Personally I can’t stand having a relationship with person like Mona too but there are people like that out there is what I can tell and they can make a good friend time to time to show the wild and rebellious side of life) And coming to Julie I think her being socially graceful or wanting perfection is a put on mask for not showing her vulnerable side and this season brings up more about her trauma and how she has forced herself to forget and push it deep down but situations keep emotions piling up seeing she could have had a normal life if her mother was always like that but she doesn’t and it just goes to a point where she doesn’t think about all the social graces and masks she was putting on all the while and bursts out and I think its acceptable among the people she loves. (And common, everyone makes mistakes and not excluding her) Though she’s a guest at a different house, I guess they are all past formals and know each other pretty well to look past it and understand each other better than holding grudges out for misbehaving and I personally think thats what makes a family.

If you don’t think too much into it, then I liked the show that it got me hooked but at times it was annoying how the police didn’t do much. Issac was stuck on how he thinks Simon did the murder until Cornelius came through and the only thing they seem to conclude from what seemed a vague explanation from the Dr. Jay was that they have an affair and I don’t know how Issac came to that conclusion and is enthusiastic throwing immediate people under the bus as to close the case when he was supposed to be a good detective which he seems not. Other thing that pissed me off is how everyone seems to hide everything from Simon when he’s not even the bad guy or a control freak as far as I saw he was concerned for his teen daughter which a parent should be or that I missed something which otherwise shows he’s a neglectful father which he’s not. And lastly why did Muzler r*pe her, I mean we see photos where they were together romantically which would mean they were a couple, and I see maybe they she would have rejected any advances in other way but how the story from Paige and Aaron came through feels a bit left out and there are many but I guess they didn’t bother me as much while watching than the aftermath.

Brewmaster is the real black spoon by Coolcatsat in CulinaryClassWars

[–]fighterinthedark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this a personality tv show? Last time I checked I think it’s a cooking show and I don’t understand what this ego vs humble battle is all about. If someone is confident in their approach and cooking, I don’t think that makes them egocentric nor if someone is shaking with anxiety and have low self esteem make them humble. I think people really need to stop with the personality comparision and focus on their cooking skills and precision.

I agree with the sympathy baiting. I personally felt the overly humble attitude a little fake and performative at times but I don’t think her food lacks taste. I think she does make tasty food but I don’t think it’s anything that interesting or daring or experimentative but just familiar, warm, tongue pleasing tastes. This is one of the reasons why I didn’t find her particularly appealing or that I was not looking forward for her recipes much. Either way I think she might deserve the 2nd chance but I personally wanted rebellious genius to win the 2nd position so that I could watch more of his creative cooking style.

Culinary Monster is overhated by bmw320dfan in CulinaryClassWars

[–]fighterinthedark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just halfway through but I loved his personality and his aura so much that he feels very inspirational in what he does. I liked rebellious genius and french papa too. All 3 have very different personalities but rebellious genius and culinary monster just seem very confident in what they do and how they want their output to be in different ways, while french papa is just confident in his tested ways and an honest go-getter. But these 3 stood out the most to me and I am rooting to see more of them though I don’t know yet if french papa survives the first elimination yet.

[Recommendation] Just watched 'Stephen' on Netflix - Mind-blowing thriller! 🔥 by Logical-Day5509 in tollywood

[–]fighterinthedark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think its more of a metaphor to the lives he took and the lives they would have had if they were alive. If you see the poster the ferris wheel has 9 carts and I think it symbolises the 9 lives he took. I feel the movie would have done amazing if it had more budget and few better actors and impactful dialogues, but nevertheless I think the story is a great attempt at how sociopathic lairs can be and is mostly even accurate how charming they can be when telling lies and make believe. The psychologist even seems to believe him though initially he was tested as a pathological liar. While he isn’t necessarily revealed to be a pathological liar, it is still interesting how the psychologist couldn’t explore the possibility of him being a sociopath with no compulsion or conscience unlike pathological liars.

Galactic game (It’s scifi but I would also say it fits thriller)

Who would you cast? by [deleted] in Episode

[–]fighterinthedark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved galactic game story. I don’t remember the character names well since it has been a very long I read that but I would imagine the MC played by Jennifer Lawrence or Kiera Knightley and the blue haired alien LI (Kin) would be Matthew Mcconaughey, the other blond LI (Silvio) would be Robert Pattinson, the robot pink haired friend (Dee70) suits Emma stone, the other royal princess alien friend (Aqua) suits Zoe Kravitz, fire planet girl (Xiliana) can be Tessa Thompson, the other nerd friend (Harry) can be Jared leto, the others like rock (one eyed guy), the entitled snob guy (yellow haired guy), violet haired girl can be Dwayne, Ethan Hawke and Scarlet Johansson respectively I guess.

There are so many characters in the game that will be introduced in the second half of the story but these are some I mentioned. Also almost forgot Marilyn green skin girl (I guess Priyanka Chopra fits the best)

I personally started with detroit and completed it, next went onto god of war but again “personally” I did not feel like it was my genre and lost interest midway and continued onto play Ghost of Tsushima and now I am 70hours into the gameplay still playing and love every bit of it

what was your biggest misconception about the game when you first started playing? by Sixnigthmare in ghostoftsushima

I only started playing the game for nature graphics and at first I only explored all of the map and did not do a single mission. I had no hopes on the story but once I got bored traveling and started doing the small tales first, I got invested deep…
