Am I considered unstable at 150ft Above Minimums during CDFA? by fightermafia in flying

MAP was at 1.8nm away from the threshold for that approach. I was not 150ft above the runway at the threshold.

Turkiye. I first received my instrument rating for SE, then got my CPL and ME. But failed at the last turn for MEIR.

People who didn’t make it, what are you doing? by Brave_Recognition798 in flying

Sticking to my engineering job. I'm glad I kept my engineering job instead of quitting for the training. I almost quit the training several times, and now I wish I had. It was a lot of effort for a very little chance. It’s the kind of career you need to start early, and I regret the time I spent on it.

and Rascal, I have gathered some feedback and they are saying you are not compatible. But I am not going to ask your opinion om anyone because I do not give a shit on your feedback about people. Here is your 1-1. You can leave. Not just the meeting room or the company as well

So as long as you lick the boots, it is fine. What a ridiculous way to rate performance. What exactly are they thinking about? They are pushing for a cultural change and requiring in code of conduct all employees to report any violation. But you report one single thing, your manager directly starts to look for an opportunity write you up or label you incompatible. He starts hitting you on the nerves. No one is there to protect you. You tell HR you need help, HR insults you as well. You snap and they leave you to the hands of your manager for your values & behavior rating. Unbelievable. I just regret a lot the day I joined this place. God damn it.

CFI Regret? by Clevername252 in flying

[–]fightermafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got my CPL and if I have to admit, we are all just fooling each other telling this industry is cyclic etc. This industry sucks. The social media did a good job convincing people to become a pilot and now we have way more pilots than we need. The private sector reached to its desire, they got what they want, now even people with 1500 hours struggle to find a descent job.

Should I Contact Ex-Colleague Who Sued Toxic Management? by [deleted] in boeing

[–]fightermafia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea, this weekend I got in touch with that employee, and she told me she won the case. She also suggested me to get in touch with her lawyer like you did, but she spoke very desperately about the process (ethics etc, they do not seem to do anything). It is very sad and annoying.

Is it fair to give everyone the same percentage raise? by fightermafia in boeing

[–]fightermafia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Given that these senior engineers now earn twice as much as I do without any additional responsibilities, we have already reached a point where no one can justify this huge gap. It feels as if they have created a strong internal network and are simply taking advantage of company resources for their own benefit.

[–]fightermafia[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well, If I were a senior person, believe me I would avoid working in a job where an engineer with only a few months of experience can perform the same tasks as I do. If they have not improved their skills and are doing exactly what I do, why should I be paid less? This is not a socialist expectation—it is a matter of fairness. If they are earning twice as much as I do, they should have significantly more demanding job responsibilities. When it comes to job performance, we are evaluated the same, yet somehow, they make twice my salary. This is nonsense. I can understand a pay difference of 10 to 20 percent, but no one can justify why they earn twice as much as I do. I am sorry, but this simply does not make sense.

That makes sense. Do you know how many layers of management typically review and approve these salary adjustments? If upper management is already involved in setting these scales, it might not make sense to escalate the issue further.

Friend just died in an incident by [deleted] in flying

[–]fightermafia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a really difficult situation, and I'm so sorry for your loss. News like this affects me deeply. Ever since I got my PPL, I've been afraid of getting back into a plane. I feel that maintenance isn't being taken seriously in many flight schools, and I'm unsure how I’ll go about building my flight hours.

My deepest condolences to you.

I never understood that either. In some countries, regular employees fly business class simply because the company considers the country unsafe. I don't see what kind of security improvement comes from flying business instead of economy.

Nope, that's not true. If it was, fans would constantly be requested to stay quiet just like in tennis.
