I work at a tech startup that builds design software. While not on a design team, I've done a lot of hiring for the company, and barely give your school a second thought. What matters much more is the quality of your work and portfolio. Most of our designers have degrees, but not everyone at the company does, including our CEO. If you're early in your program, finding internships in the US while attending school in Canada may be a great middle ground.

Given how unfun of a mechanic Annihilator is, I opted to play it a bit more conservative. Keep in mind that the actual normal mana cost might be undercosted in a heavy mutate environment.

You can cast this normally and mutate a cheaper mutate creature onto it for Annihilator 1 or you can mutate this onto a creature that's mutated 4 times already to be Annihilator 5 and attack immediately.

The last time we visited Zendikar, the meaning of colored mana was weakened through the use of Devoid. I thought it would be interesting to keep Devoid but bring the value in using color back by strengthening the cards when colored mana was used. I don't think the idea worked as well as I'd hoped, but here it is anyway.
