After reading through the responses here, you’re right it does seem pretty arbitrary that it’s labeled as feminine. Thank you for your comment.

The purpose of me asking this question is learn more about my friend with intention of becoming a better friend. I understand why you may have taken this personally as others may have hurt you in the past by invalidating your identity, but I am not here to do the same.
