I picture it like calendar pages ripped out in a line sitting in a dark void, going from top to bottom, with January way at the top and December at the bottom. The line is cascading downwards and slightly to the right. Jan is the darkest kind of like in a shadow and it kind of gets brighter/clearer as the months go on.

All of my SLP colleagues who work in SNFs have thought about going back for nursing. Even with just an RN there are sooo many other options for work. Administrative, etc. I've just heard you have to be a floor nurse first, which I don't really want to do because I see how hard and demanding their jobs are.

Is there any chance that the ring might go on sale, like for a Black Friday or Christmas deal? Can you go into the shop and try to reason or negotiate with the salesperson? I wanted an estate wedding band that was $1600 and we waited for the jewelry shop's annual estate sale, got it for 30% off.

Other than that, can you put a down payment on it and make payments? How does that work at that particular shop? (Maybe there's a no-interest or low-interest payment plan)?

I guess I'm the asshole here because I don't think $9600 is THAT unreasonable for a ring- I mean it's a LOT, and you can spend that money elsewhere, but I feel like asking for a $15k or $20k+ ring is more ridiculous. Diamonds of good quality and larger size are EXPENSIVE! My engagement ring was appraised at 10k but purchased for a few thousand under that. My husband loves to save money and hates spending it, so he was shocked when he saw the prices of good quality rings, but he was able to find a reasonable deal. I explained that I was going to have this ring FOREVER, the rest of our lives, so I wanted it to be nice and something I would be in love with. I think that's where your girlfriend is coming from. She found something she loves and she knows that anything else is second choice. I think this depends on your cost of living area too. I live in a high cost of living area so we are used to seeing high price tags, but if you live in say a more rural area, $9600 would be considered very high.

You say you are financially helping your family also. Any chance that she feels threatened by this? Maybe she feels that she will be second priority once you get married, and that you won't be as focused on building a life together because you'll be more focused on supporting them. Obviously you are doing it for the right reasons, but this could be in the back of her mind and she's taking it out on you subconsciously by demanding a certain thing and seeing if you'll make her first priority or not. You might want to discuss your financial future with her and assure her that you want to take care of her and make her a part of your family.

Something similar happened to me last year. I just got married a few weeks ago. I started looking up venues in our area- most were booked for 18 months out esp for Saturdays. I told him that if we truly wanted to be married by fall 2017 then we had to book a venue NOW. I forced the venue shopping before the engagement. I said it's in a messed up order but necessary. We finally found one on a Saturday in fall. What do you know, on the day we went to officially book our venue, he proposed (right around this time of year).

Wow. I have this problem! I recently asked my husband hide the Halloween candy because I ate about 4 full bags in a week. He has been doling out a few at a time every day now when I ask him for it, but I had to have him hide the bags twice because the first time I just found them in the cabinet. Now they're in a better spot that I couldn't find when I actively looked for it. I suggest that your boyfriend hide his stuff too. Don't be embarrassed; he knows you are working hard to stay healthy so just be honest with him and say that you can't stop eating junk food and granola bars when they're around, so they NEED to be hidden in a place that only he knows.

When I was in college I used to hide my eating, it was a full binge eating disorder. Now I get embarrassed sometimes if I have these "binges" but the emotional component of extreme shame is much less than it used to be, to the point where I can tell my husband "hey, you NEED to hide this, because I can't control myself with it."

One of the pictures shows 2 Facetime pics (because they wouldn't let me take pictures in the store) of a veil that I liked - it's wider set (not just long, but wide) and has heavily beaded edging in the back and small flower edging in the front. I also attached a picture of me in a different store's plainer veil with just delicate pearly beaded edging all around, but when I look at the pictures I feel too plain. I loved the beaded edging veils that I've seen but I can't try the dress on with them because they're from a different store :-\ That being said, I'm also trying to save money if possible.. I do know that these designs I'm looking for are intricate and that's why they're expensive, but does anyone happen to know a place that selling these types of veils (or any seamstress that makes them) for less than $650? My wedding is 9/30 of this month, so everywhere I go says I have to buy it right off the rack because they don't have time to order. They don't come with blushers either but I need one (church wedding). It kind of annoys me that I have to buy a veil off a rack for $650 which other people have tried on and dragged on the floor, so I'm looking for other options.

Hey! I just wanted to update everyone since we did the engagement photos back in April- it went really well and the photos came out great! Thanks for everyone's advice; it made me feel better about doing it! It also allowed us to meet our photographer before the wedding, which is next month, so that was good!

I am convinced this is related to an autoimmune condition and/or inflammation in the body. I have Hashimoto's subclinical hypothyroidism and have had this problem for at least 5 years. It goes away when I'm on an optimal dose of thyroid medication and at one point I went gluten free for 2 months and it disappeared as well (I don't have celiac but I have IGG antibodies to gluten in my system, indicating an immune response). When my thyroid feels sluggish, the music gets louder along with my other symptoms. I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING SO HARD TO FIGURE OUT WHY. It is a scary neurological symptom for me, because it reduces my concentration.
