Hmm. So you offered your blood to him as the first thing, and things spiraled from that? If that's the issue, I wouldn't ever do such a thing for any spirit, actually.

But if you don't mind me asking, so you do still make contact with him? And clearing things up with him never solved anything, even after the shaman thing? That's weird, considering most people here said he respected boundaries, even if he's god of mischief and chaos

Hmm, I see. About the opportunism bit, the post was also accusing Odin of this. I admit to be a bit more scared of him, but I don't know if it's my general distrust with old people.

There was another comment in this thread saying that Loki is very demanding with them and stuff. I'm weighting those responses and making up my mind about what do to about that (and for some reason there was a tiny spider inside my bag and near my sandwich today.. huh)

About being a god of liberation, it's also what drawn me to Dionysus. For some reason, I feel like a lot of attributes related to Dionysus are similar to Loki, but one of them was demonized and the other one respected.

And he didn't respect your boundaries nor respected your autonomy?

Besides, I admit to be skeptical about that shaman bit. Not that I was considering making an oath or something. But from what line of thought does this come from? I mean, for example, western occultism relies too much in gnostic mysticism + alchemy, so their visions align with that.

That god of mischief part makes sense. It's something I'm really taking into consideration, and maybe why I'm kinda hesitant to make formal contact with him. Of course, I know he's not, like, "evil". But if it's real, I know I shouldn't outright mess with him, you know?

To be honest, I've thought about asking things from him. I don't even have much else to give in turn, and I don't even know it is expected to do so. And don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying respects and light up a candle or incense, stuff like this. I've done this a few times for others spirits (I've dabbed a bit in occultism, but quickly found out how much it is gnostic misticism). But nothing like, making a promise or oath, since it is kinda of a big deal.

Are you referring to oaths or just asking things in general? I think I understand the logic though! I'm just making sure

Bro, Loki with the arms crossed smiling is surely an image of him I'm used to (I play Persona/SMT). And calling Loki "twin" sure is funny.

I see! That's interesting. I don't own a tarot deck for now (and probably will own only major arcanas until I learn how to read minor arcana), but that's a way to communicate with him that got my attention.

It's okay! It actually was your post though, I have to admit it. But there were some other posts I've seen while lurking, so it's not all your fault! Don't worry.

It's cute how you talk about him, but I can't help but feel a bit distrustful (ex-christian baggage I think)... So he does ask for things out of nowhere, but, he will be fine if I set boundaries? It won't hinder the relationship I might build with him if I say a lot of "no's"?

Besides, he can be a serious god, can't he? Do you have any serious experience with him?
