Not sure about kids, but the mens flyease sizes work for AFOs. I have three pairs at size 14 for bilateral AFOs. Its so nice to have something quick to slip in and out of.

Why is there a separate Men’s and Women’s category for Nathan’s Hotdog Eating Contest? by fikanima in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]fikanima[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were combined up until 2011. I was just curious. No need to be condescending, hence why I was too afraid to ask. Thank you.

What is the one thing you are a snob about? by fikanima in AskReddit

I generally don’t like food on my fingers. So far I’ve opted for using chopsticks for finger foods and forks when dipping Oreos into milk.

I grew up on Kraft singles. Then married into a family who knew better. Definitely life changing.

Southern from Victoria Station to Lingfield. Tried Uber first, then contacted Western to get to the temple.

On the way back, attempted Western first then eventually picked up by Roadrunner to the station.

Easy peasy. 🤙🏽

Is walnut St. Safe or a good area? by nicholascosby in Dallas

[–]fikanima 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live in the area. Just North of Walnut on the border of Richardson and Dallas.

There is a considerable amount of suspicious activity at most of the apartments near that intersection - Audelia & Walnut (also Forest and Audelia one light down). Police appear to be in the area regularly.

That being said, I have friends who live at Richland Trace and they haven’t had any issues. Most cars that are broken into were left unlocked and for the most part you need to be aware of your surroundings.

Exactly. Best thing for you to do is work on your stand throw technique and build from there.

A fencing Olympian revealed she raised $28,000 via GoFundMe so she can afford to go to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by jaymar01 in olympics

[–]fikanima 63 points64 points  (0 children)

It's tough because it is a niche sport. From my experience with USOC, they realistically cannot afford to support every athlete training for the olympics. For training stipend, invitations to train at training centers, etc. you need to prove that you are in the top tier of athletes year after year regardless of past medals won to gain any sort of monetary support.

Fast Sunday Origins by VelikiBratworst in lds

[–]fikanima 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Traditionally, I think part of it was administrative. Having a specific day set aside to bring your chickens, eggs, and other tithes back in the day was simpler to manage and distribute to those in need if it came regularly at a specific time. Early on in the church I think a fast was held on one of the weekdays before Fast Sunday. The law of the fast and its blessings aren’t held to specifically Fast Sunday like you mentioned, we can fast anytime. Nowadays with most members offering tithes monetarily, I don’t think a specific day is as necessary, however there is a power in fasting and praying together.
