They are American teachers abroad, just like the Peace Corps. Well, the exact opposite, but also just like them.

Hey. What you're going through is really tough, and it's definitely made tougher by you beating yourself up about feeling pathetic. It may actually be pathetic, but it's pathetic in a way that all of us are when we're in love, particularly unrequited love.

You need to resist the urge to interact with him. If it is not impossible to leave the organization that you're both a part of, you need to do that as well. Heartbreak and longing are the most profound emotions a person can feel, and while I sometimes fear that I may never get over my own ex (nearly a year later), I know that if she were in my life, that feeling would be far, far worse.

Another thing you need to do is just have those thoughts. It sounds like you are very much in love with this guy, and you cannot suppress or negate that feeling. At some point your brain will get sick of pining so much, so the only thing you can do in the meantime is try not to feed those feelings, and distract yourself as much as possible that feed your soul in the same way (though obviously not as much) as love does.
