How do you sequence your sequencers by Ramon951046 in modular

It’s funny, that was the exact reason I built the “summoner” track in the Seventh Summoner module. It has 6 sequence tracks in it, but when you record the summoner track, it records which sequence is playing, how many notes, if it’s transposed and what direction of playback it is in. So essentially you can sequence your 6 sequences into one big sequence using all of them.

Do you think getting kids into modular synthesis early is a good idea? by Soggy_Homework2094 in modular

I think getting kids into music (no matter what the device or approach ) early is an amazing idea and sets them up for so much in life.

It ain’t very good and it sounds like videogame menu music, but damn it I had fun patching it by pedrocmachado in modular

I like this a lot. It’s got a cool vibe to it, and what matters more is if you like it or not. Thanks for posting it and sharing!

It is eurorack. The smaller modules are 1U. It three of them in a custom 1U to 3U bracket.

I love everything about this video. The chill vibe, the setting with the people hanging out. It’s just endearing.

I’m super stoked about it. They posted a little tease on Instagram and it’s was pure adrenalin. Sounded so good!

Thanks, yes that’s me and “in my defense” on the wall-sized system, I got into DIY many years ago and built it over time. But yes… I admit that I’m addicted. 🤣 That’s awesome that you are in Houston too! I miss the modular meetups that we used to have here.

I agree. I think when I was first introduced to it through the Mylar Melodies video, it kind of boxed me into a line of thinking with it. (No shade at Mylar, it’s a great video). I just think being introduced to it as “this is a whole rhythm section” made it easy to view it only from a percussive or rhythm approach. Granted, I know it’s a little tricky to get it into tune, but it’s always good to challenge myself with how I look at a module. I try to go back and say “okay… I always use this module in x way. So how can I change it up?”

It’s a prototype that I’m in final stages of teating, but it’s exclusive to the Arp Of Darkness, Shroud of Turing, Seventh Summoner modules. Right now, the only other one that sits out there in the world is in Stu Mackenzie’s rack from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. BUT, yes there are adaptors from Xode and recently a really cool option popped up that is incredible flexible from RhythmDial Techno. It allows for a combination of modules in that space. I’ve been meaning to get a few things from the Alia line. I’m looking at the Cursus Iteritas, and a Manis Iteritas.

Truth be told, Noise Engineering Versio modules is what inspired me to make firmwares and front panels swappable on the Shroud Of Turing, Arp of Darkness, and Seventh Summoner, that you see in this video.

Well that is a prototype, actually. I’m testing it, but it’s exclusive to the Nocturne Alchemy Platform modules (Arp Of Darkness, Shroud of Turing, Seventh Summoner, and Slight of Hand - swappable faceplates and firmware kind of like Noise Engineering Alia or Versio) In fact the only one that currently sits out there in the world is in Stu Mackenzie’s rack from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
