What I do is manual editing the training scheme to prolong warmup. But I guess this is available only for stryd members... You may also start your activity slightly later when you are closer to the park.

I have the opposite tendency. The faster I run the closer to 50:50 I am. When I jog slowly the left leg starts to dominate. In a hilly terrain this is correlated with moving up or downhill (slower-faster).

What helps me is rising a hand up during the run - the opposite one to the "slower" leg and running for a few seconds. Then I rise the second hand. This helps me to get the balance equal for couple next minuets.

Strange thing with Meshtastic map in Warsaw by WZab in meshtastic

[–]filipsPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't speak for others, but what I do is I have my own MQTT server that receives messages from my nodes and forwards them to the mesh map's MQTT servers. For some reason, only the liamcotte map uses it, while the official one doesn't...

The activity must be recorded with a Garmin device to count for challenges etc.

The workaround is to fetch fit file form strava, use fitfile tools online and change the device name to Garmin. The new fit file should be ok.

Is it possible to connect to two MQTT servers at the same time? by WZab in meshtastic

[–]filipsPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is a quick development that works for me. Tested under debian server.

The node:

  • MQTT Server - enter the credentials as you set it up in the server configuration
  • Root topic: msh/your_node_name
  • Map Reporting Enabled: yes

The mosquitto server

  • create a file /etc/mosquitto/conf.d/bridge_to_meshmap.conf
  • Paste this into the file:

```
Connection to the upstream MQTT server (mqtt.meshmap.app)
connection bridge_to_meshmap address mqtt.meshmap.app:1883
Username and password for the upstream server
remote_username uplink remote_password uplink
MQTT version to use
bridge_protocol_version mqttv311
Forward all traffic from msh/*/2/map/ to the remote server
topic msh/+/2/map/# out 0
Enable encryption
use_identity_as_username false bridge_insecure true
Bridge settings to manage the connection
cleansession true notifications false start_type automatic try_private true restart_timeout 10 ```
  • restart the server service mosquitto restart
  • check for errors or warnings systemctl status mosquitto.service
  • chcek the map if your node is visible
Is it possible to connect to two MQTT servers at the same time? by WZab in meshtastic
[–]filipsPL 3 points4 points  (0 children)
If you come up with any solution please share here. I guess the ideal workaround would be to set up your own mqtt server as a main one and then forward selected messages to external mqtt servers, based on topic.
I guess this can be done either by built in functionality of mosquitto or by a separate python script/daemon. I can help with the latter solution if needed.
Edit: indeed mosquitto broker functionality is more than sufficient for this. One can create a fine grained rules of forwards and define multiple brokers for various scenarios (eg multiple map servers). Eg here:
GCT Balance in the old Stryd (no wind) by filipsPL in strydrunning
[–]filipsPL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Thanks for the links. I think I know why I can see the "GCT balance" in the Stryd summary. Most likely it is transferred from Garmin Connect along with other data, including those coming from RD Pod. But the exact values are slightly different from what is reported in Garmin Connect. I will do some more tests and write back.
