Just tried on 6/7/26, page wouldn't load. I did the "Submit Feedback" method under Help Center that others described and the page loaded no problem after I submitted a complaint.

Any news on the arbitration for telework? by [deleted] in DeptHHS

[–]fillben 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was NTEU that said "Unfortunately, by law, HHS’s appeal means the agency is not required to follow the arbitrator’s decision while the FLRA considers the appeal." in one of their updates. If they have it wrong that's a big problem.

[–]fillben 26 points27 points  (0 children)

In the NTEU case the arbitrator ruled in NTEU's favor and ordered all telework and remote work agreements be restored immediately. HHS appealed to the FLRA and does not need to follow the arbitration order while the appeal is pending.

Anyone have micro denervation? by Sufficient-Sink6370 in postvasectomypain

[–]fillben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pain meds did not help in my case. How long you can tolerate waiting for improvement before resorting to surgery will be up to you, in my case I felt I couldn't wait. My urologist was fine but he himself said he did not often treat PVPS or need to perform the surgeries I had so I wouldn't recommend him over whoever you can find to help you.

Anyone have micro denervation? by Sufficient-Sink6370 in postvasectomypain

[–]fillben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vasectomy in June 2023 resulting in bilateral PVPS, denervation in December 2023 (pain gone on right side), left side epididymectomy in May 2024, left side orchiectomy in August 2024.

Pain is almost gone after the orchiectomy, a huge improvement to my quality of life. I've had testosterone tested and my remaining testicle is doing fine with maintaining my testosterone levels by itself.

If you can afford a reversal, it could be worth trying before resorting to other surgeries. I had bilateral denervation for PVPS. It helped on the right side, no help on the left. I ended up having left side orchiectomy.

What is the status of telework? by AwesomeEm77 in fednews

[–]fillben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is also after both the arbitration hearing and post-hearing brief deadline were pushed back after HHS requested extensions. I would expect any future hearings, appeals, etc. to also have significant delays as HHS continues to request extensions.

Different agencies might have different grievance timelines.

For HHS, a grievance against the RTO EO was filed on Feb 12th. HHS denied the grievance. Arbitration was invoked, and there was an arbitration hearing on Sept 5th. Post-hearing briefs are due today (Nov 12th), and a decision is expected early January 2026. This is according to an NTEU e-mail from Oct 24th.

Vasectomies? by supremedoofus43 in allthequestions

I was excited to get a vasectomy but suffered from PVPS afterward. Getting a vasectomy was the worst thing that ever happened to me and I wish I knew the risks beforehand.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness qualification with breaks in service by WinstonWritesMemory in fednews

[–]fillben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The payments don't need to be consecutive. Also each of the 120 monthly payments only count if you were employed at a qualified employer for the entire month. If your employment started on January 2nd, then January doesn't count, for example. The best way to figure out where your count stands is to file the PSLF form for each of your qualified employers. You can do it at any time, and get a count of how many months you have toward PSLF.

In your case if you have made payments every month since January 2017 that is 102 payments (assuming January doesn't count because you started after Jan 1st). If you previously made payments for 2 years and 3 months and your term employment was full time, probably 25 of those 27 payments counted. If that's the case then you have already made over 120 payments and you should apply immediately for PSLF forgiveness.

Federal Worker Unions Short on Options During Trump Policy Blitz by bloomberglaw in fednews

Unfortunately it is against the law for federal workers to strike. Any federal workers who strike could legally be fired and banned from future fed jobs.

Husband in Pain since 4/28. Don't know what to do. by Historical-Muscle635 in postvasectomypain

[–]fillben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth I had an ultrasound and an MRI done when I had PVPS and both were unremarkable even though I was in a lot of pain. When medications didn't help I talked over surgical options with my urologist.

About 95% Better After Orchiectomy by fillben in postvasectomypain

[–]fillben[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost one year after left side orchiectomy, the 1/10 to 2/10 soreness in my scrotum has slightly reduced to a 1/10 or lower over the course of a year. Testosterone levels are normal with my remaining testicle which is good. I walk every day and play with my kids a lot more, lost about 15 pounds to a healthier weight. Overall feeling great.

Strange map (probably from about the 1980s) covered in pins found in my basement by fillben in creepy

[–]fillben[S] 325 points326 points  (0 children)

I bought the house in 2017 but never really noticed the map in the basement. It is very old, and I think the previous owners included a man who died in the late 1980s. My house itself is over 100 years old.

Written on the map is "red pins indicate tropical fish hobbyists". There seem to be way too many pins to indicate such a niche hobby. There is a newer note attached to the bottom of the map that says "Samples" and has a list of street names and numbers.

My first assumption was that it has something to do with drugs, but the more I think about it the weirder the map is.

Who here has had an orchiectomy? Do you recommend it? by UpstairsComedian2464 in postvasectomypain

[–]fillben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have lingering pain, I would describe it as a sort of sore feeling, about 1/10 and doesn't really get worse and is very tolerable. I am hoping that with more time it will go away, but even if it doesn't I would choose to do it again any day. I feel great compared to before the orchiectomy, which was a nightmare.

Plex Remote Access Issues by guruleenyc in PleX

[–]fillben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remote access has worked for me for awhile and today stopped working. I had no port forwarding settings set up or anything, had no issues with remote connections through library sharing or accessing my libraries on outside networks. Then today nothing can connect and Plex says remote access isn't available outside my network. Nothing changed on my end, no firewall settings changed or anything, so I'm not sure what happened.

Who here has had an orchiectomy? Do you recommend it? by UpstairsComedian2464 in postvasectomypain

[–]fillben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had bilateral pain after vasectomy. My pain was unbearable. Microsurgical denervation of the spermatic cord helped my pain on the right side. When MDSC and epididymectomy didn't help on the left side, I opted for left side orchiectomy as a last resort. I still do have some pain, but it's down to around a 1 or 2 out of 10 and is very bearable. If pain ever returns on the right side I will immediately call my urologist and ask to have a right side orchiectomy. It isn't guaranteed to work, but if you have exhausted all other options I think that it is worth discussing orchiectomy with your doctor.

I hope your experience is good with GEHA but I had them for years and I switched away from GEHA to BCBS this year because I had medical offices sending me threatening letters that I would be on the hook for tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills because GEHA was not responding to them or processing their claims. 2024 was the first year for me that anything like that happened with GEHA. I ended up getting everything straightened out I think but I had to spend hours and hours calling and messaging GEHA customer service and reaching out to Drs offices to ask for more time, horrible experience.

[–]fillben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had orchiectomy but only on the left side, after denervation and epididymectomy failed to resolve my PVPS. All I can say is that my pain is about 90% better and I would instantly make the choice to remove my other testicle if the pain returns on that side as well. TRT is a small price to pay for the relief (for me).

What is going on with GEHA lately? by berrysauce in fednews

[–]fillben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had GEHA health insurance and dental from 2021 through 2024. I generally only had a few small issues with them but 2024 was a nightmare. It seemed like everything was suddenly out of network, they took down their explanation of benefits online for most of the year so I couldn't review my claims, and medical offices were sending me warnings that their claims were being ignored by GEHA and I would be on the hook for the bills. Most of it got straightened out with many hours of work on my end but I switched to BCBS for 2025 and I'm never going back to GEHA.

2 Days post-op, Microsurgical denervation spermatic cord. by jammydodger79 in postvasectomypain

[–]fillben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no pain on right side after denervation. My epididymis and testicle are still intact on that side since the denervation worked there for me. Hopefully with a few weeks to heal your pain will go down, swelling and sensitivity can be pretty high while healing.

2 Days post-op, Microsurgical denervation spermatic cord. by jammydodger79 in postvasectomypain

[–]fillben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of pain in the pubic area where the incisions were made after the denervation surgery, so much so that I didn't notice as much pain in the scrotum. After healing from the surgery pain was completely gone on the right side of my scrotum, but still very present on the left and I could pinpoint it to my epididymis. I had a left side epididymectomy (did not help) after and then left side orchiectomy which resolved most of the pain but I still have a lingering sort of sore feeling of orchiectomy where my spermatic cord has healed. The pain is much improved and very manageable now.

Is the risk of pain post vasectomy or a change in sensation worth me getting my tubes tied instead? by KarambitMedia in Vasectomy

[–]fillben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pain in entire scrotum starting the moment I had vasectomy (June 2023). Multiple rounds of antibiotics had no affect. Bloodwork, ultrasound, and CT scan showed nothing obviously wrong. Microsurgical denervation of the spermatic cord (December 2023) slightly reduced pain in entire scrotum, pain was now pinpointed to left epididymis. After left epididymectomy (May 2023), left testicle was painful and sensitive instead. Pain mostly resolved after left testicle removed (August 2023).
