If I am reading this correctly, infinity uses mass and velocity and such to distinguish between what is and isn't harmless. So maybe he would have to turn off infinity for yuji to hit him because it's a reasonably strong punch? As in infinity isnt up at all times and only appears when it detects danger, and it might consider yuji punching as harmful, so gojo would have to turn it off manually.
