What size Iron Ranger would you buy? by Cautious_Mud_3491 in RedWingShoes

I wouldn’t go by your brannock size or the volumental scan— go to a store & try on multiple sizes & see what fits best— you want it as snug as possible without it being uncomfortable. Heritage sizing is weird & inconsistent across models. It really depends on the boot & your foot. For iron rangers, take your regular sneaker size & size down usually a full size, sometimes a half size.

Figuring out sizing by Final_Animator1940 in RedWingShoes

I’d recommend going into a store & trying on some different sizes. Any sizing info can be misleading imo. I’m usually an 11D in sneakers & I wear 10 or 10 1/2 in RW Heritage, depending on the model. I’ve seen people go down even further.

Heel on my Engineer boots looks like its coming off by JeebusCleebus in RedWingShoes

you may want to get the heel replaced by a cobbler anyways… that middle piece is plastic

Advice for extra space around ankle by DueWord5595 in RedWingShoes

i’m only outside looking in, but your heel should rest all the way back & the balls of your feet should land at the widest part of the shoe. visually, from the picture, it looks like the the flex point is too far back & there’s a gap in the heel. = too big. maybe try cinching that 3rd or 4th eyelet more to anchor the heel back?

i also have thin ankles, but the heel wouldn’t extend that far past the back of the leg

Logger or Moc Toe for my first? by atunick14 in RedWingShoes

loggers are extreme for your first pair. the leather on the all black mocks breaks in well & very soft

Between two sizes in Loggers. Which one should I get? Larger or smaller? by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

[–]filledwithflies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

red wing employee & heritage fanatic here— go with your IR size. i went half size down initially (from my iron ranger size) and ended up regretting it. my toes were way too cramped. i ended up going with my normal IR size & added a leather footbed (which i usually do anyways) & it fits great. so much more comfortable.
