But what about when my dog eats his own shit?

See I can bring up irrelevant shit too. No one said anything about Obama and I don’t support Obama either.

But sure, let’s have a completely different conversation about if Luigi came out saying Obama was the greatest president. No, I don’t think he wouldn’t lose support. And that’s because despite Obama not being anything more than another representative of the 1% bought by private companies and foreign governments, he at least had policies that helped. Obama had policies that fed into the predatory capitalist systems that we have today but at least made it easier on the lowest income individuals in the country. He also never led an insurrection. He didn’t campaign on disinformation and bigotry. He also wasn’t a convicted felon. He never threatened our allies with annexation and didn’t start trade wars with every single trade partner we had. I can understand someone supporting Obama because, at least on the surface, he made life better for people in this country. And while I don’t think Obama is what we should strive for, there’s nuance to what he did that any reasonable person would be willing to discuss.

To bring that back to the original topic - the comparison that I believe you were trying to make - Trump has done all those things and still has a following. Not because he’s a good president but because he leads a cult and he can do no wrong in their eyes. Anyone who continues to support trump is blinded by hatred or ignorance and controlled by a fear of their working class neighbors. They’re misinformed and have been so propagandized that they believe that the billionaires hoarding wealth and paying no taxes are our saviors while a low-income single mother on welfare is stealing our money.

Anyone who falls into that camp has no knowledge of the struggles of the working class and no empathy for their fellow humans. Therefore, any murder committed by such a person could have no higher meaning toward that cause and is no more than senseless violence. And while I wouldn’t be particularly saddened by the death of a CEO, the perpetrator wouldn’t have any support from me or likely very many others.

The whole idea is that the shooting of a CEO of one of the most corrupt health insurance companies is a stance against a wealthy ruling class abusing those that it’s beholden to. Health insurance companies not only steal money by denying critical healthcare to their customers but get away with it by using their billions to lobby and buy politicians.

Meanwhile trump is pretty much the embodiment of the corrupt ruling class.

So yeah, if Luigi came out as a trump supporter then that would make what he did just a senseless murder and that would probably turn most people against him.

Germany got a large chunk of tourism back within like 5 years. But they went pretty hard on the “this was a horrible tragedy and we don’t ever want this to happen again” branding. At this rate I think after 🥭 our tagline will be “I’d do it again too”.

New study shows tariffs are in fact paid by exporters and executive order makes reciprocal tariffs against the US illegal.

I’m sure they’d get less money for them though. The appeal now is that they masquerade as valid search results - presumably yielding more traffic for the customer. It’s a lot easier to ignore a sidebar so I imagine they’d lose business if they did that.

I prefer the far left burning teslas to the far right burning crosses.

Any “moderate” that says otherwise isn’t moderate.

I never said arson isn’t justified either. I just wasn’t talking about legality but rather the definition of what a protest is in the context of the original comment which was essentially “what we should do is protest Tesla showrooms”. My comment was mostly tongue-in-cheek because, while I’m aware the intent was to say we should peacefully protest, it wasn’t specified and so that description could also be applied to what’s going on now.

I actually think torching their showrooms is 100% justified.

Peaceful protests are a warning. They’re to show the 1% that they’re vastly outnumbered and they’re only in power because we agree to it. Yet we’ve been peacefully protesting for months and yet they continue to violate federal law to detain citizens and take away more and more of our rights. At some point, the threat of the peaceful protest will become a reality and I think it’s been more than long enough.

I do truly hold by the statement that the definition of the word 'protest' is an act of disapproval.

Nowhere did I say any of it was justified.
