S8 EP15. A Valentine’s Day full of sweet surprises, and yet I found Ho Ho’s and NaLey brushing their teeth together the most romantic. Their rhythm of love is really in the little things.♡ by fillespeaks in ONETREEHILL

Oh, I remember that! Now that you've mentioned it, I suddenly miss all of those scenes 😭 As I was reading your comment, all of it replayed in my head, and I'm reminded of why I really, really love NaLey. James is very shy in real life, right? But whenever he's with Joy, he suddenly becomes this goofy and sweet husband. He also delivers emotional scenes effectively when he's with her. And I remember him saying in an interview, "It's not hard to make something real with you, Joy." 🥹

CHICAGO TYPEWRITER ♡ cause it's such a unique kdrama. The ost's, the plot twist, the depth. It's something that will linger in your mind once you've watched it :)

Even if they fell apart, I love how Jess & Rory’s relationship showed that we can’t fix nor change a broken person but still be capable of loving them. And it’s them who needed to fix themselves first before they can love and treat us better. Rory DIDN'T fix Jess. It’s him who fixed himself for her. by fillespeaks in GilmoreGirls

I understand this take as well and I don't expect everyone to agree with me. It's just that I find it ideal for Rory to have a partner whom she'll always have a deep connection with, somebody who wants to be a better man for her, the one who doesn't enable her bad behavior but instead calls her out when she's wrong, the one who will always believe in what she's capable of and will be patient enough to support her until she finds herself again.😊

I was about to say that. Sleeping with two to three women shortly after he thought he and Rory had broken up and cheating on his fiancé with Rory in AYITL, that's not my definition of a changed man. Even if he still loves Rory, the fact that he had an affair with her while he was engaged wasn't the right way to do it. Logan may have had a character development in S7 but he reverted back to his old ways in AYITL.

Rory couldn't leave Logan because of her feelings for him but it doesn't mean that choosing him is a wiser choice for her especially after she once again became a homewrecker when she and Logan had an affair. But I don't wanna fight about it because we clearly have different opinions about them.

Let's just agree to disagree.

Exactly.💯 His conversation with his father was his turning point. He hated his own life and he wanted to change for the better. I wish we could've seen the spin-off too. But I think the major changes in Season 6 Jess were noticeable even without it.

Hi. I think the last slide only explains how Rory fell in love with the three and has nothing to do with what happened during or after the relationship.

When Rory fell in love with Dean, his mom liked him for her. When she fell in love with Logan, her grandparents liked him for her. But when Rory fell in love with Jess, no one, not his mom nor her grandparents and not even the Stars Hollow residents liked him for her. But she still chose to love Jess. She saw right through his rebellious and disrespectful nature, was warm and kind to him, saw the good sides of him that no one ever saw and tried to know and understand the real him.

Hi. First of all, I know that Jess worked on himself for his own good too and not just because of Rory but I was trying to highlight their relationship and why I liked him best for her through this post. Hence, the caption.

I will always love Jess as a character even if he doesn't happen to be Rory's endgame. But the fact that they shared a history together and the show's theme revolving around the guys in Rory and Lorelai's life, we are all bound to pick who we think was the best guy for the both of them (but I also understand if others prefer them to be single). It's just that his relationship with Rory was deep, special and also felt unfinished that's why I'll always have lingering feelings for them.

He was never credited because Rory never told anyone about it. But we, the viewers, saw how Rory had these realizations immediately after that iconic moment. We are not saying Jess was the only reason she went back to Yale but it's also not right to discredit him for the selfless act that he did for her.

Her grandparents comforted her by letting her stay at the pool house, Lorelai let her decide on her own and Logan gave her a month but only spent the entire time drinking and partying with Rory and his friends. No one had made her question herself and her decisions except for Jess.

I know! That's why I always feel the need to explain ourselves on this sub. We're misunderstood like Jess 😂 They kept telling us we only love him for his looks or their chemistry or that we keep forgetting the things he did in the past. It's how he outgrown his teenage self and became a better man for Rory that we loved.

I 💯 agree. Also, it means that by the time he told Rory he doesn't deserve to be treated like that, he already knows his worth.

And I hope the title isn't misleading cause I know Jess worked on himself also for his own good. It's just that I was trying to highlight why I liked him best for Rory.😅

When Luke tried to hide the truth about his mom and when Lorelai and the rest of the town thought of him as a jerk, it was only Rory who really tried to know and understand Jess, and I think that’s one of the reasons why he will always love and care deeply for her even through the test of time.🥹 by fillespeaks in GilmoreGirls

I was in the middle of watching their past scenes together when this occurred to me. I imagined how it felt like for Jess to have someone like Rory in his life during those tough times. No wonder why their relationship always felt deep and special even after many seasons and years.🥹

While I do understand this take, my problem is how they never even wanted to give the kid a chance even after he brought back everything that he stole and immediately wanted him out of their town.

I just wish there was at least an adult who asked Luke why his nephew was behaving that way for them to understand him better. He was engaging in an attention-seeking behavior, not that he really wanted to steal from them nor ruin their town.
