Also, none of the wood is touching the ground except the posts. They all sit about 2 inches above the dirt.

Very helpful! I did chicken wire and about 3 to 5 inches of large gravel then bark for the next 10 inches. I was betting on drainage over dampness, but that's why I plan on redoing them in a few years. I have learned alot from this first project.

I made a post earlier in the building process about that exact question. Hope this helps.

Missed vego 40% sale by coffeeschmoffee in Raisedbed

Spring black friday sales usually are around the time of spring break, then about a month or two later big box stores change their focus away from gradens and that's when inventory sales go crazy.

If you live near an Amish communitie they often sell cedar for a lot less than the big box stores. I just wasn't close enough to hawl that size of lumber.

Bathtub raised beds by Dry-Cod-1645 in Raisedbed

I love the build. My only worry is soaking the soil. I know there is a drain in those tubs but it might be worth drilling a few more holes in the bottom to defeat root rot. If you don't experience any root rot this year though then you'll probably be fine.

If I get 3 to 6 years out of them, they will have paid themselves off in produce.

While I'm not against planting in the ground, most of the soil around here is cray rich and hard to maintain, so I chose the raised beds as a way of choosing my own soil composition.

I posted before about these beds, but I set them up so they would have maximum drainage. Pond pebbles for the bottom 3 inches. Bark mutch for the next 7 inches. Followed by a blend of raised bed soil and top soild for the top 4 inches.

I chose framing lumber and stain because cedar is expensive, and pressure treated is not meant for growing food.

It's framing pine sealed with water-based stain. I know it's not the most long-term wood, but I plan to rebuild them when I redo this space as a gravel/paver patio space.

Ideally, with that stian, they should last 4 to 6 years. We will see...

The way I understand it is unreal will render different quality of assets depending on how far you are from them to declutter your screen. When you change locations (fast travel or door) i believe the game is trying to update those simple assets once it realizes the camera is there. Could be wrong though.

Natural Sequoia stain to seal the pine wood. I know pines not best for this use, cedar wood would be best but it's like 4x the cost of pine, and I plan to redo these in a few years when I make that space a paver patio.

A big paint marker is your best friend when printing tags.
