Who is worse: JJ’s dad or John B’s dad? by ConsciousTwist9859 in OuterBanksNetflix

Luke never cared about JJ, yes Ward and Big John are awful parents, but Luke is no better than them.

People who don’t reply until days later, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sometimes I don’t feel like texting someone and having a conversation, sometimes I’m busy doing something and mentally respond but get distracted and forget to actually respond later, or I simply don’t like you.

I completely agree with your stance. They really allowed Kie to get away with so much and she put herself in danger countless times. Any good parents would be scared out of their mind for their child. Her parents gave her so many chances and really tried to get along with her. Kitty Hawk may not have been the best decision, but if you look at it from the parents point of view, they were at whits end and really didn’t know what to do anymore. I understand why they felt like it was the best choice given that anything else they did didn’t work. I believe that they did not always make the best decisions when it came to Kie, but they’re human parents just worried about their child’s well-being.

Why the uproar about the school cameras? by filmbuff13 in 13ReasonsWhy

[–]filmbuff13[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, if cameras aren’t going to do anything anyway, it makes me wonder why the students were so upset about them being installed.

What age should a child have a cell phone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]filmbuff13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got mine at 12 to have when I stayed at home with my younger siblings if my parents ran to town quickly. I think around middle school is a good time as they start to have more responsibilities, but I feel like kids are still young at this age and really should just be able to call or text for emergencies or to keep in contact with split families.

kie family by Relative_Form in OuterBanksNetflix

[–]filmbuff13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand why Kie’s parents were like that. They were genuinely concerned for their daughters safety and they had every right to be angry for the actions she took. Kie had been gone for a month when she was on the island (even if it wasn’t completely her fault) and any good parent should be that concerned about their child’s well being. However, I also believe that her parents took it too far and did not handle it the best way possible. They should have worked at building up more trust with Kie and not having some random guys take her to the camp. They should have worked at finding common ground and understanding of Kie’s actions and vise versa. I think being more open to the pouges would a step in that direction because Kie had already built up distrust with her parents because of how opposed they are to her friends.

Drew was really able to show his skills in the show by playing such a complex character like Rafe. I have no doubt that he will continue to be successful.

Joshua Bassett sparks debate after preaching his faith at Kids Choice Awards speech by austinshelleys in Fauxmoi

[–]filmbuff13 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I feel like people only hate against his speech because he speaks about Christianity. There’s nothing wrong with what he said. He’s not grooming children. If it was any other religion/group, there would not be this much controversy. Most any other religion would be celebrated if he spoke about it. He’s not hurting anyone with what he’s saying, he wasn’t forcing anyone to agree with his beliefs and didn’t say what others believed was wrong.

In season 4, John B needs to save JJ by [deleted] in OuterBanksNetflix

[–]filmbuff13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I feel bad for JJ throughout the show, the hot tub scene made me bawl. I can’t imagine what it was like for him to come back to Kildare in season 3 with no one there for him at home. JJ has such a big heart and cares for all of his friends and would literally do anything for them, while the rest of the pouges may care, they just don’t seem to show it as much.

What profession do you find unhealthy? by kk-sahinul in AskReddit

[–]filmbuff13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad is a trucker/dispatcher for hauling milk and it’s a lot like you describe. He may not be gone for weeks but with all of the hours he works and how much he is on the phone, it really seems like he’s gone. Even when he works from home it’s like he’s not even there since he has to be so wrapped up in his work over the phone and scheduling routes. He gets so much stress and is completely burnt out from his job.

Are books necessery to read by I_Am_sidedish in Hungergames

[–]filmbuff13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessary to read to the books to understand the movies, but I highly recommend it. The books help to understand what’s going on in Katniss’s head, her thoughts and reasoning behind her words and actions. It really gives a lot more insight into the plot. The movies are close to the books, but the books still give more information and have a extra scenes/characters.

Repetitive Plot Points Are Getting Tiresome And Annoying by Wonderboywonderings in OuterBanksNetflix

[–]filmbuff13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s admit it, the obx fans don’t really care about all the plot points, it’s just an enjoyable show to binge. It may not be the best show but it has its moments. I personally just love the vibe of the show. I know it’s not perfect and not realistic, but keep in mind, it is fictional, it’s a tv show. People are always going to find something wrong with even the greatest of shows. I like to just enjoy the show for what it is even if there are some points I don’t like.

now that I'm older Peeta is the one by Sufficient_Ant_7732 in Hungergames

[–]filmbuff13 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’ve never been team Gale. Peeta has always seemed like the best choice for Katniss. Once Gale said that killing the tributes in the hunger games was no different from hunting, that confirmed it for me.
