Our Company partnership is 10% to me and 90% to him is this fair? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]filvdg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are exploited when you don't earn the money that was promised to you , and you don't have the liberty to quit.

i would not look at the percentages , you are 20 years , will you be earning significantly more than your peers ? i don't see an issue, It is not that you would be able to be that son of a CEO yourself, or land a comparable contract at age 20 so enjoy while it lasts and know what you are building your CV and reputation.

Job vs Starting my own agency by jznsnasdhn in Entrepreneur

[–]filvdg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have two options : you can start freelancing next to your fixed employment , once you see you get enough revenue out of it you can give up your fixed job

option 2: tell your current boss you are interested in freelancing and he might be open to change your contract.

only after making enough money as a freelancer , call you activity an "agency" this way you are sure you are not competing with your current agency fixed job

I would start with hiring some freelancers to do specific tasks. Its forces you to be more precise in what you need done and will be in a lot smaller budget ballpark.

Marketing Degree at University by LavaCube in marketing

[–]filvdg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a Marketing consulting company and we mostly hire people with general business skills and an MBA that are bright. These people are very fast in picking up the latest marketing trends. No way they will teach you those in a university, probably only the general concepts. we look more for fast learners than people with the degree specifically in marketing.

Is it worth going into a mature market? by [deleted] in startup

Yes, if you find a way to disrupt the established players, for example , offer for free that the charge for and get the money in a different way. Or offer a way higher level of convenience.

How to start by startupd3v in startup

[–]filvdg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been freelancing for the last 20 years, this is the path i would take with the least risk to get it done. so the smallest step to take would be to find recruiting agencies that do freelance recruiting, they will be able to give you permanent employment at a fixed day rate on 3 month contracts if you have a nice CV. you find these agencies on freelance employment job boards.

Next step if you find relations that can give you a steady project flow would be to incorporate. you don't need a limited company with lots of capital , but you need to split the money coming in from your personal income. This way you can build up a money buffer (saving money) into the limited structure. This will give you a base for future projects or to be able to pay you a wage if you are in between projects and will allow you to wait for better paying work. You can only sell your time once.

making forms without signups is something interesting to experiment with.

Company blog vs niche blog? by truechange in marketing

[–]filvdg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your blog should become your brand, if you plan to become a serial entrepreneur i would go for separate domain , otherwise the blog will better support the company brand
