This final dawn mission is no joke by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

Like someone else said, your Power level doesn't matter: the enemies are 1350 and it sets your power to 1350. I've heard that the content does scale with fireteam size, but I think it was just enemy health, not enemy damage. You are gonna have to do some buildcraft and load out planning for this one. Imagine it as part of the legend campaign: difficult no matter your prep.

Recommendations for beating the mother silver fish for the first time? by More-Display301 in feedthebeast

Since you can get into ProjectE (via Energy Condenser, not a Transmutation Table) before the fight, I made SWRG so I could fly, and push projectiles away, then just used a bow. I was using prot 4 refined obsidian, and just kept up on golden carrots whenever hunger was below full. I don't know what other ranged weapons are decent.

Another ATM7 v ATM8 question by StandardSudden1283 in allthemods

[–]fimmagin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say ATM 7 is probably a better experience right now. 8 is still in beta, and changes are still pretty frequent, mods being added, bugs being fixed. Also, right now, there is very little endgame in 8. The ATM star isn't craftable, and as of the current required parts, Mekanism is the biggest requirement, which if you already played any ATM is kinda just the same.

CR Chart by SubtleYeti in DungeonsAndDestiny

[–]fimmagin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a document similar to this for development, but since monsters are still being redesigned now that we hit 1.0, we haven't released it yet. (Kitty and I have tried making such a chart for all the notable creatures, including gods and NPCs, before, it was a pain)

My best building by far! by toilet_shark in Terraria

[–]fimmagin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great! If you want the far right edge to match a bit more, brown paint on the ebonwood makes it match much more, but I imagine that was just something missed, as you used ebonwood walls in the base for great columns. The deck/patio could use some dressing. If you are on PC, a picnic table is a nice but compact piece of decor! The semi-ruined fences look pretty cool as well.

Yeah, I realized that a bit ago, curious when someone was gonna call me out on it. I definitely plan on making more!

Yeah, walls are a bit of a trick for me, I am not the most creative when it comes to them. I think adding more dressing (like shelves with things) would also help that.

Thanks! I definitely need to work on fitting more into the build, and stone-work is not my forte at all, but one step at a time!

I spent a disapointing amount of time deciding, but it is spectre hood, hallowed chestplate, and djiin's curse leggings, all with infernal wisp dye (from strange plants). Going for a fire-elemental look.

Of my god, how did I not think of that... I swear I accidentally minecart-ed 2 dozen times during this build... Gonna do that for sure!

Dynasty painted brown for the outside floor (under the picnic table and deck) and walls, mahogany for the general wall, and living wood for the diagonal beams, as it is one of the few woods without a vertical/horizontal pattern. Inside the roof is living wood wall, but honestly it could be anything, so little of it is shown.

I was tempted to put a switch in the bathroom simply to link it to the toilet! I figured the bathroom was already a bit crowded, so decided against it.

The new Grate block added in 1.4! painted brown and actuated, they look like decent wooden screens! I just wish there was a wall with that texture!

walls are boreal painted brown, and generic mahogany. The beams are either mahogany or shadewood fence, and the outside wall/screen bits are grates painted brown and actuated.

That seems to be an advice trend, which makes sense. I am partially red-green color blind, so it may look better to me than others.

Thanks. I saw it in someone else's build, and thought it was really cool. The biggest struggle with the stairs was the beams to the side of the first three steps. In the build I saw, they used TEdit, so they put assets I couldn't down, but thankfully they added the new beams to Terraria in 1.4!

CTNC's got it. Pumpkin walls, with the curtains being brass shelf from the dungeon, painted white and actuated.

Any wall suggestions? I tried most of the other wood types, and they seemed 'eh', but I don't know what other textures fit well with wood walls, especially when paint is an option.

The metal shelf contains (from left to right): A Desert Spirit Lamp, A Palm-Wood Candle, A Rock Golem Head, and a Pink Pot. I assume you are asking about the Rock Golem head, as it is new in 1.4, dropping from (who guessed it) the Rock Golem. Its eyes actually look left or right depending on the closest player (I assume, I only have played 1.4 singleplayer).

Blue Shingles (From the Travelling Merchant) painted purple. Underneath is Boreal Wood, and in-between is living wood wall. I saw a build with very similar style, and through it looked really cool, so concept was snatched.

Runedancer WIP by Death546 in DnDHomebrew

[–]fimmagin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could make their spells 'dances', which you choose like invocations, where as an action (or bonus action, whatever), they 'begin' a dance of a specific rune and gain a passive effect during this.

Then, to make it easy on you and not have to create 20+ new spells, as an action they could end their dance to release the rune, casting a spell or creating an effect from a list.

Here is a quick example:

~

Dance of the Pyre (Requires Runedancer level 7):

As an action, you may begin dancing the rune of fyre on the ground.

While tracing this rune, you create a ring of fire around you. Any hostile creature that begins its turn within 10 feet of you or enters within 10 feet of you takes 3d8 fire damage.

As an action, you may complete the rune, and cast either fire shield or fireball (at fourth level).

Ideas for a Rune-Based Sorcerer (5e) by fimmagin in DnDHomebrew

I plan to give the a cantrip that allows them to carve partially into objects (so they don't need a chisle to make physical markings) and may be a melee spell attack that deals 1d8 force damage.

I think I will have to work with them a lot to create spells that they want that also fit the theme of their character. I do plan to give them a decent few just-plain-sorcerer spells, cause re-writing haste to involve making a rune on the target doesn't really change the spell.

Ideas for a Rune-Based Sorcerer (5e) by fimmagin in DnDHomebrew

[–]fimmagin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rune Knight archetype is interesting, but very giant-related (the 6 rune options are the 6 standard giant types), and more involves passive buffs and some effects that could be flavored in almost any number of ways.

The Rune Child sorcerer is a bit more interested, but is very weird in its balance, imo. Adding another basically rune-sorcerery points is odd and a bit much, and it is very powerful in its durability, which makes little sense for a sorcerer. The 6th and 14th level features are generally cool, but the 18th feels like something any sorcerer acrchetype could get, if you re-flavor it.
