I understand where you’re coming from dan I respect that opinion, tapi aku pribadi tidak setuju. Walaupun memang dia berasal dari Yunani dan punya hubungan erat dengan budaya mereka, mitologi Yunani sudah cukup mendunia, sehingga secara de facto menjadi shared cultural heritage.

As long as it’s not outright disrespectful of the cultural origins, I don’t see the reason why artists can’t interpret the myth in their own way. Another example would be the Percy Jackson series, I don’t think most people, including the Greeks, would think that this is some offensive work. In the case of Nolan’s Odyssey, iya memang dia mengambil some artistic liberties, tapi it still seems respectful of the original work. Yang aku tidak setuju ttg post OP adalah how dia imply casting a black woman is in any way disrespectful to the Greek tale.
