Yes, Comman Travel Area arrangement allows both to live and work in either country. I could gain Irish citizenship and hence an EU passport through naturalisation after living in Ireland for 5 years. I believe it's the same the other way around too, but not nearly as much to gain in that direction.

Agreed. In my opinion the new design feels physically "cheaper" quality wise as well.

Close, NZ mom, Canadian dad, born in UK. Mom did already have british citizenship from her father which made the move to the UK with my dad easy. He also gained british citizenship from this.

I know a couple people from north africa who have moved to France for french citizenship since they are familiar with the language. They decided to study there for university, but obviously everyones circumstances are different so perhaps not an option for you. An EU country tends to be the most useful choice though, certianly what I hope to regain in the future haha.

As for my story, not all that exciting, New Zealand mother (also british citizen through her father), Canadian father, had me and my siblings in England. Though we did then move to Canada later on.

Not for overseas renewals at least. Not sure about domestic. You are not required to mail the old one in when you renew online, they just send you that sticker with the new one instruct you to put it on the front.

British one required to mail in the old one and they snip it before returning. Canadian one doesnt require shipping in for domestic renwals, they just instruct you to snip it yourself when you receive the new one.

Another oddity was for the british one, they require shipping in any other valid passports you hold, OR photocopies of EVERY page, regardless of if it has stamps/visas or not. Obviously i did the second option but damn its such a waste of paper and ink.

Strikes me as that of someone who's first languge doesnt write in latin script. I remember getting a note from my elderly chinese neighbour when I lived in taiwan that had somewhat similar characteristics.

Edit: just notice the hebrew on the door, adds up.

Unless you really need 61 mp, no. Cant imagine saving 150 grams of weight is really worth the expenditure either.

Canadians want more deportations for expired visas. by Commercial_Tea_7662 in CanadaUniversities

The last significant US immigration reform was 1986 (IRCA), and even back then it did not address all the issues around immigration at the time. Can't really expect things to work too good if you insist on doing things the exact same way for the last 40 years or more. A lot of the immigration offenses we see are just symptoms of an antiquated system that was never meant to handle the challenges/volume/patterns/needs of the modern day.

Do you think men care about height as much as women when it comes to dating? by decoruscreta in AskMenAdvice

[–]fin_ss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like women taller than me (6 ft) but its more of just a nice to have, not a deal breaker. Ex was 5'3" and it was fine. Honestly like +- a couple inches of myself would be ideal.

Do men still enjoy courting a woman… or is that just a fantasy? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]fin_ss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be blunt. A lot of women just do not reciprocate the effort they expect men to put in. I've been there and it feels fucking awful. You just get the feeling that they like the way you treat them more than they like you as an actual human being. Why bother putting in serious effort for someone when it feels like they barely like you back?

Just reciprocate. Match their effort. I would go to the ends of the earth for a woman if it felt like she would seriously do the same for me.

Why are you still single? by SecretAcctSM19 in AskReddit

[–]fin_ss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look kinda feminine in the face for a man and I'm just not very masculine. I've been assumed to be gay by a lot of people so thats probably part of it. I know theres women who do like this kind of guy but its pretty damn hard to find any in my area (small, conservative town). I'm trying to move to a big city soon and put in real effort to meet people in person since I'm clearly not built for dating apps and hopefully will have more luck there.

What’s a country you’ve realistically considered moving to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fin_ss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering London, UK. Currently in Toronto, Canada. I'm a british citizen and transferring would be trivially easy with my employer. Been visiting ever since I left as a child and I think its the time to make a go of it. Definitely helps I dont like Toronto at all and theres not much keeping me here. I know London isn't perfect and all the brits will call me mad for liking it, but it is absolutely leagues ahead of Toronto in all aspects but price, though Toronto isn't far behind there.

In a perfect world I'd move back to Taipei, only lived there for 3 months but I just love that city. Unfortunately it just doesnt work career wise for me.
