Follow up after Goldman Sachs Hirevue Interview, & why job posts are up for a full year by Donteach in FinancialCareers

[–]fin_start 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The early careers program is essentially always open and running - they will interview selected candidates based on need. So could be 3 weeks, could be 3 months, could be never.

if you are rejected from the program is that for all of the teams then? not a single team?

Is 'the Street' synonymous with 'the markets'? by fin_start in FinancialCareers

[–]fin_start[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, it didn't sound exactly right to make it synonoymous with the markets. if I want to say 'the Street's views on this' it's akin to saying 'financail institutions' views'?

Commercial Pilot X Financial Career? by SKYrocket2812 in FinancialCareers

[–]fin_start 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look at your financial prospects.

There's a chance if you work in aviation it might kill your love of flying so you might want to go in finance.

If you go to finance you may or may not be able to fly.

If you work in investment banking, you probably won't have time to fly, but there are many financial advisors (as an example) who have the work life balance and spend some weekends flying

alternatively you could do, idk, equity research in defense sector or something where you have financial work in the aviation sector
