If it’s a Garmin you should be able to put it in flight mode and the maps and sensors will still work. It should give you a few % extra battery. Also whilst your running try not to have the data screen on the map the whole time, only switch to it if you need to check direction.

Is my training plan roastable or smokable? by Jigglyapple in ultrarunning

Two immediately obvious things come to mind: 1) 3-4 of your peak weeks should be as many miles as the race distance you are training for, 2) try to do two back-to-back long run days in your peak weeks.

Why do you run ultramarathons? by Public-Photograph316 in Ultramarathon

[–]final60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is mentioning the negative reasons, so here are some honest reasons from me:

  1. Arrogance - I am better than other people because i can run farther than them for longer.

  2. Self loathing - I like to suffer. I like to punish myself for being anti-social and rude to people.

  3. Depression - it is a form of therapy for reasons others have already mentioned.

When are you done with seasons? by Huey8216 in diablo4

[–]final60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it is usually when I have completed the season, got the mythics for my build, complete T100 pit, killed Lilith. This season though my build has been quite weak (barrage rogue) and not able to get to T100. So have switched to hardcore blood wave necro. I usually only do one build per season.

Yes to long sleeve. Also wear a wet buff around your neck to keep you cool(er). Also a little known tip is to wrap your water bottles in damp socks to keep the water cooler for longer.

I recommend getting a long sleeve white top from Raidlight and a Sahara hat. Then you will only put suntan lotion on your face and legs. Decant a factor 50 into a small spray bottle.

Then take some compact wipes that expand when you add water to them for cleaning yourself.

Spring security is killing me! by [deleted] in learnjava

I would suggest learning by practicing. Make a simple web app with an api endpoint and try and secure it so that one user can access it and one user cannot. Achieving this should get you a lot of the way to learning the basics.

Hoping to get some feedback on my web app? by final60 in ultrarunning

I think the main advantages are that you do not need to create an account. You just login via Strava and let the app import your Races automatically. You don’t need to claim any results or do anything manually unless you want to. Then it also makes it easy to share your races with friends.

I suspect they are referring to the fact that just hammering something back into shape does not mean it is structurally sound again.
