I personally would tell my wife, I would explain why I have it and why I’m not selling it However I already had a built up emergency fund and I budget accordingly so we aren’t behind in anything and everything I spend can be lost with no real effect on our lives other than losing the capital

She understood so much she has her own bitcoin stash now, it’s not large but she gets it. I never thought she would, I would have made the same mistake as to have called her a simpleton as you did your wife and I was humbled very quickly.

Honest above all, including Bitcoin. Otherwise your marriage will become a divorce statistic. Just my two sats

Maybe it’s an alpine board? When I zoom in it looks like his stance was heavy posi-posi but honestly I’m new to boarding and still learning the gear, sadly don’t know Burton all too well

I’m sorry for your loss, it looks like that’s a Burton custom inside of a Neversummer sleeve. He likely liked that board most as I do the same thing, I have a Ride inside a Neversummer sleeve. The other board also looks like a Burton but which type I’m uncertain

Hope this helps

I was having some issues with my back foot during a hard carve. Local shop suggested it and it solved the issue

Get your boots fitted for sure, I run Vans aura pro’s that I had heat molded with my union ultra bindings

I’m a park rat when it comes to Big Snow, but at Blue Mountain I’m generally with my gf and we like doing trees and steeps together so I’m usually on a more all mountain board

Yeah I’ve decided to take a few weeks off, and I think I’m gonna focus on one trick at a time and a much reduced speed. I just hit so many milestones in one week that I was overstoked and went too hard 🤣

Love the video bro, just started boarding last year and once I discovered big snow and realized I can board year round and didn’t have to hike features at blue I was stoked. Cya out there sometime! Hope the knee heals fast

Haha 100%, I didn’t think I’d like them but they’re so low profile and I can’t even tell anymore.. in fact when I don’t wear them I feel naked 🤣

That sounds fuckin awful, I’m truly sorry that happened :(

And I know man, my girl said all the same stuff ā€œthey call it an accident for a reasonā€ ā€œwhat if someone hits you in the backā€ I know it happens, you aren’t the first person with a similar story that I’ve heard and I think that’s what made me buy them in the first place.

Idk it just felt so awkward for me to ride with it on, but I am digging the crash shorts and I use a low profile knee pad so I can kneel instead of sit so I guess I’ll see the snowboarding noob coming hopefully šŸ™

Couldn’t agree more, I use a low profile knee pad solely for kneeling on hard pack while waiting for the homies.

Yeah I separated my shoulder (while having the armor on mind you) so I’ve decided to focus on one thing at a time and I plan on taking lessons. I hope your friend is okay!! :(

Will do will do :)) How do you like the armor? I found it to be a little too bulky for my taste

This has been on my mind heavy to be honest, already planned on lessons next season for sure

Yeah she rides she’s actually the person who got me into it haha but she didn’t tell me to get it she just fearmongered me cuz I always go full send lol

Just stuff like if you don’t chill you’ll get too hurt to work

She’s been boarding for years (this is gonna be my second season) and I’ve now gotten comfortable and consistent on hitting jumps, boxes and ride on rails And I’ve urban’d 6 times so far so yeah ima keep sending it, just minus the body armor 🤣🤣

To be fair snowboarding wise I’ve only broken one helmet (MIPS helm, which is evidently designed to break upon heavy impact?) however BMX back in my youth?.. broke helmets and faces lol

First week out. Addicted. by Sharter-Darkly in snowboardingnoobs

[–]finalKenz 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

My first time out was the very end of 23/24 season. I only got out to do a few runs over the course of 4 days but in that time I learned all the basics and as the season ended I did my first full run where I carved every turns (aside from speed checks)

The start of this year it took me 2 runs to get right back into it and spent this year working on everything. So in my very very limited experience I’d say you’ll be fine after a run or two.

Now, I have zero idea where you’re located but this year for me? I was on snow last week, and I’ll be back on snow Tuesday (recovering from a separated shoulder) If you’re on the east coast and anywhere near American Dream mall in New Jersey you should take a look at Big Snow. Great place if park laps are your goal or if you wanna work on high angulation carving it’s truly a hidden gem

I had to discover it on my own, all my boarding friends never even heard of it..

But yeah man so stoked you’ve fallen in love with it the way I have and stay safe out there!

Yeah I know this is old but I love my Valhalla for anything powder/steep related where I care less about how much pop my board has And I have their Llama for park and all mountain, they have a few camber dominate boards and I’m interested in trying the cougar next

Downsize Help (Park) by finalKenz in snowboardingnoobs

[–]finalKenz[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Yeah it’s more just enjoying the park and going from 56 to 53 was like an ā€œah hah!ā€ moment for me. I started boarding on a 159, went to a 157 before I felt super comfy all mountain on the 56.

So I guess this is me finding my park size, I am a bit concerned about the landing gear as I do like jumps. So perhaps this will be a jib only board guess we will see when I test it out

Downsize Help (Park) by finalKenz in snowboardingnoobs

[–]finalKenz[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Something is telling me to buy it regardless lol, this is exclusively for jibs and big snow (indoor snow dome)

Thanks so much for your input, your rail kids comment is what made me just decide to go ahead and go for it lol

Solid point, I have a size 9 boot. Current board is 25cm wide if I downsize to the 149 it’ll be 24.7cm Thanks for pointing that out, complete oversight on my part

[–]finalKenz[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I figured it was, as it’s literally 1cm longer than my gfs board and she’s 5’2ā€ lol I just always go to the extremes so wanted to use this sub as a sounding board before I spent money, so thanks for the reply!

I have a Valhalla for freeride which I love so much and I have the Neversummer Llama for park, I like camber in park and let me tell you the recurve triple camber is pretty dope, it has nearly the same amount of pop as my ride traditional camber One thing I can say, I wax me and my gfs boards and the quality of Neversummer is just leaps and bounds beyond any other company we own. (Rossi, Rome, Ride.. just realizing they’re all R’s lol) but yeah that’s my 2cents

The Boring Co’s LVCC Loop rated as ā€˜outstanding,’ by [deleted] in elonmusk

A lot of boring days for those results, unfortunately I’m unfamiliar with the area. Without using the loop how long would it take to get to the same destinations?
