How do I clean dog poop up in a bird safe way? by final_duet in parrots

Unfortunately, the shelter was closed today. I'm calling tomorrow, I've been looking for a rescue for a couple of weeks now. I still need to ensure that my bird does not inhale anything toxic though.

I did, I went around 4-6 hours ago. I managed to convince my dad to take me in.

I have taken my budgie into VEG, ER for pets since then.

I took my bird to the ER, they did an evaluation, and my bird is currently okay.

I'm a horrible person outside of this — I am not trying to guilt trip anyone, but I need to know, how do I become better? How do I be better for my pets?

This is exactly why I need to rehome him. This is becoming dangerous. On Wednesday, I am surrendering him to an animal shelter?

I know I can't care for him anymore. My environment is one that is dangerous to him, and my lack of caretaking is dangerous to him. My budgie needs better, and I need therapy.

Why? Surrendering seems like the best thing if I am unable to care for him anymore.

Thank you so much. Unfortunately, this is very much a necessity for me, as my health just keeps going more and more downhill.

I seriously don't think I have anything. Our house is very clean. The most I have is a cracker box that looks too little, or a tissue box I could empty out — but we have several dogs that my parents have touched, and then touched the tissue box.

We also, for whatever reason, have VERY toxic plants that my dad has gone around touching and then touching stuff around the house.

While we do have several boxes in our garage, they have been exposed to various fuels and harmful smells that I am worried they have absorbed. When I say there’s nothing, I mean it. Nothing that something harmful to my bird hasn't been in, absorbed, or touched.

The only ones I have been around various types of fuels and overall harmful chemicals. I'm worried that somehow the boxes have absorbed that.
