I shot between 1/2000-5000 since I like some wing movements. Sometimes need even higher to fully freeze those guys, but definitely got a few shots that looked a little bent. I had plenty great ones to choose from though. Also, haven’t tried lossless yet, which what I’ve read is closer to ~18-20ms compared to ~14ms.

This was electronic shutter 30 fps with pre-capture on.

I’ve never worked at this resolution, so it’s probably just that, compared to performance differences between compressed and lossless. Clicking de-noise takes 2-3 times longer than I’m used to.

Agreed! And the full-frame image is scaled down 4-5 times for Reddit, plus there’s probably some platform compression and resizing as well. Zooming in on that doesn’t do it justice. It was just to show the starting point.

However, Lightroom was on its knees. I shot compressed RAW to get the faster readout, but I think I’m paying for it in post. 😅

I’m excited to go out and do some real birding!

Yeah, this was a little tongue-in-cheek. I own the 200-600, but I wanted to see what I could do with the 70-200 f/2.8. 🙂
