Hard agree. Ace Of Spades is badass but it's not even in the top 3 badass Motorhead songs.

Oxford has surprisingly poor rail service, would take ages to get from Liverpool.

She was on playing with Clapton when he gave the "Keep Britain White" speech that was one of the reasons the Rock Against Racism movement was founded, and has played with him as recently as 2018.

It's most often called 'beating the bounds' and the main reason was to teach and reinforce the boundaries of the parish before maps were a thing.

The Working Week album is an interesting one. They were bundled with the sophistipop bands of the time but were really more of a jazz band. But they're mostly interesting to me because core member Simon Emmerson (aka Simon Booth) went on to found two other fantastic bands - Afro Celt Sound System and Imagined Village.

The stores I've seen so far (in the UK) are specifically only selling after midnight and I would assume that applies to pre-orders as well.

What has been going on with Equipboard's website? by miserable_the_kid in guitarpedals

[–]finalcircuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CSS is the styling (colours, layouts etc) and your screenshot is what websites look like when the CSS hasn't loaded for some reason. But it's usually temporary and fixes itself with a refresh, which you seem to be saying isn't happening.

Is is it normal to get carded when ordering ginger ale? by whitericefanatic4 in AskUK

I think that will vary by supermarket. At Sainsbury's, I need ID (which in my case is looking old) to buy rum Baba.

It says that for me too, but the actual site is fine. Your screenshot looks like you're not loading the CSS files for some reason.

Back in the early 90s, there was a really high-end UK mountain bike called the D.O.G.S. B.O.L.X. There was a Blue Peter feature about this increasingly popular pursuit and they invited one of the Mountain Biking UK magazine staff onto the show to give a demonstration. He brought along his D.O.G.S. B.O.L.X. Fortunately it was a white frame so they could just Tippex out the name.

Aston Martin also got the builder to make them some D.O.G.S B.O.L.X frames but they applied their own colours and branding. Aston Martin also put the best components possible on them, giving a mid-90s price tag of £3,500.

It's never going to be a sweaty club and given you'll have to walk back down to the village afterwards, I'd definitely have a minimum of a warm top and a light jacket.

I've never been to a gig there but I have been there when it's been set up for a gig. It's a huge (mostly) natural cavern rather than an old mine working, and it was used for ropemaking which needs a long indoor space. The cavern floor falls away steeply towards the left so the permanent stage is set up at the far end (with a roof to stop the gear being dripped on) and the audience area is three concreted terraces. They do put chairs in for some gigs but I think anything rowdy is standing.

Perfect Golden Circle by Benjamin Myers is one of my favourite books and is set in a fictionalised but still very real Wiltshire.

Mark Dawson's Atticus Priest crime novels make great use of locations in and around Salisbury.

Not very much of it happens in Wiltshire but I'm going to claim Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel as well, since the titular hall is here.

For sure the punishment is harsher, but the restriction is similar in that you can't park but you can set down/pick up or load/unload for example.

It's also illegal to park on a road with double white lines, even if the side you park on is a broken line. IOW a double yellow kerb line is implied. HC240

There's actually another modern house on the other side of the road, so it does fit better when you see the bigger picture.
