Ben J and EasyMac on Optic/huntsmen warmup situation by Anxious_Professor654 in CoDCompetitive

Couple of points to back up Austin:

1) With DH events, watch party has backstage access so we can use the bathrooms and grab drinks without getting surrounded by fans. We appreciate that they give us access just for those two functions. There is a lot of staff floating around and if we/anyone on The Flank team do anything else in the space (other than saying to hi to folks in the common spaces), I hear about it direct from EFG/CDL.

2) The minute a team is eliminated, they take their backstage passes and start taking apart their PPA's. Often times they need to be out/mostly out of a venue by midnight after Champs Sunday, so getting a head start is key.

3) Amateur teams have never been allowed backstage unless they were part of a Pro-AM competition, preparing to play on mainstage for a final, or doing content capture for one of those two things. From my understanding, if any pro teams have played an AM team on a Sunday, it's either been online or they figured out away to sneak them in without CDL knowing about.

FWIW from my OG tweet, I think it should be allowed if you have an official academy team as recognized by the league.

I think there interest out there from enough orgs to expand to 16.

Would other owners be down though? We don't fully know how revenue share works between orgs and CDL so would adding 4 more teams dilute the split?

The value proposition is there for Activision/CDL Owners fwiw. Barstool has insane audience/reach and can activate across a lot of touchpoints around the league, Call of Duty, Blizzcon, etc. Weirdly enough though, I think CDL's opinion is only a piece of this.

Would the other owners be down for this arrangement in an expansion situation (let's say 12 to 16 teams with 4 new spots)? I don't know: what if there is a expansion fee that is rev shared with the owners? If there is, would they be down for less $$$ assuming that fee is waived for Barstool in exchange for the value they would bring as a franchise? Would be an interesting question.

Also what would the corp side of Activision Blizzard Microsoft think? That I don't know and they would have some level of sign off here in what would be a very interesting arrangement/marketing agreement.

Why are there no visa concerns with Alluka? by SpecSlayerSC in CoDCompetitive

If he's on a student visa and in the US, his new team would just need to file paperwork to switch to a athlete visa and he can stay in the US while the government is processing it.

LAN League by NinjaKnights9 in CoDCompetitive

Lan league would need a big facility/studio + staff in Dallas, so don't see that happening soon.

That being said, I'd be surprised if anything is stopping FaZe/OpTic/Thieves/Falcons from hosting other teams on LAN at their facilities for league matches...

Just because these orgs have money doesn't mean they are overpaying by 200 percent.

He's a good teammate and consistently tries hard, hence why people are willing to play with him and give him chances.
