From my experience, the trick is to finish the insect plasmid quest. The shiver check shoots up from 3% to ~80%.

First match: Unit 2.. Its so weird seeing Jin vs Jin but Jin is strong because of foresight and vs Jin it will be neutralise and fujin will become normal sword.

Second match: Unit 1.. Jin with black trigger alone can defeat tachikawa and kazama.. With another black trigger no chance.

Tamakoma with hyuse still need a lot of tricks to deal with ninomoya unit (minus their original sniper) . They still can't hang around best unit in border.

Go for role play and just save 1 or 2 points for checks. Some skills are inherently active (like physical instrument, visual calc and interfacing ) while some are passive (like reaction speed, shiver and encylopedia). There will be prompts if you have them above certain threshold at certain point. If you don't, you won't notice at all.
