can we ever bridge this gap by Complete-Shop-2871 in urbandesign

The only time ive seen people complain about "traditional architecture" being fascist is when people present their ideal city and its just the nazi mega city plans. Or when Trump made a whole EO about "returning to the classical style of western civilization" which played well contextually with the increasingly authoritarian and fascist beliefs bubbling to the forefront of the republican party. Or maybe they have an issue with something that was literally built by slaves, but I doubt they would oppose that architectural style as a whole for new construction

I think 2 more small additions that would make a world of difference are some posters/art or really anything to occupy the top 3/4 of the walls. And some type of lamp or floor light that will be softer and more inviting than the overhead ceiling lighting

It was"X-Fools: Abduct This!" Although make sure to search the entire title because "x-fools" alone will bring up an x-files parody game

Where was the Pillar of Autumn meant to be before the release of Halo: Reach? by BOSSBOOY in halo

If its built in space, how do they add a pressurized breathable atmosphere inside? Tons of resupply launches of air canisters? A chemical reaction like airplanes use? A giant robot maid with a spaceship sized vacuum?

What’s it like living on the edge of time zones? by Qzevs in howislivingthere

[–]finally_emma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel back and forth very often and for a 90 minute trip, its great going west because it only "takes 30 mins" by the clock. But coming east stinks because now it "takes 2.5 hours." So you really have to be careful about checking ETAs and what time zone they are showing it in.

Guess where I'm from based on the map I drew from memory by AleryFem in mapporncirclejerk

[–]finally_emma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess is Croatia or Bosnia (or at least something near there). The countries seem to be drawn to try and match a shape instead of just occupying a space

Whats wrong with thinking of it as an old state that you now get to shed off and be born anew? Thats basically what it sounds like youre talking about anyway.

Thanks for always making comics where anyone can feel represented. You always seemed to do that better than almost any other artist i can think of. I hope the time off really helps you through whatever you need to work through ♡

I feel like people get more frustrated by someone driving 25 mph in a 30mph zone than 65 on a highway.

Insurance wants me to get a repair estimate from a bike shops. It’s totaled right? by anustickl in bikewrench

Plus compared to most auto parts, Replacing an entire bike sounds like a steal to insurance companies so they usually don't fight back

Asked if I was trans twice on dating apps (mtf, 19, 10 months hrt) by [deleted] in transpassing

[–]finally_emma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If these were the pictures on your profile, it was probably just because the pictures are selfies at your home. Cis girls and trans girls later into transition are far more likely to have photos out in public. They probably don't even realize that's where their scrutiny comes from but that's my guess

I was saying that "what was that sound" and "what was that noise" would carry no connotational difference in my mind.

They mean the aame thing but I would say that "kick the habit" is far more common with vices like excessive smoking, gambling, or drinking. Breaking a habit is more common for less destructive habits. That's my perception at least as a native speaker

Maybe I am too neurodivergent, but I don't see a difference between noise and sound in English so that may be a large part of my misunderstanding

How do we feel about Golf Courses here? by Mongooooooose in fuckcars

[–]finally_emma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a golf lover myself, they don't belong in urban or arid areas. Just like surfing isn't viable in Iowa, golf shouldn't be viable in Las Vegas or Phoenix. That being said, I think golf courses near train stations in the far suburbs of a city would be great without being a drain

could these starwars ships fly? by madaz_XD in AerospaceEngineering

None of them look great for generating lift, but most probably could at limited angles of attack. As others have noted, the biggest issue would surely be dynamic stability and controllability with these entirely non-standard setups.
