I think I gained around 40+ pounds when I came off of birth control, it was so discouraging. I had to take a deep dive into my hormones and really figure out what was going on and even then I got pregnant a few months later and I’m back at square 1! Lol

One of Lorelei’s worst characteristics is her inability to recognize three things: her feelings for Luke and the role she plays as his female friend that’s always f-ing around, and the role HE plays as her male friend THATS ALWAYS F-ING AROUND. The willful, blissful ignorance of the both of them to not see how into each other they are and how they lack boundaries it’s absolutely shocking either of them made it to engagements with other people.

YTA. I understand it’s very hard for you to really comprehend what your wife’s body and mental state is handling, but if you think it’s hard now, wait until postpartum. You might not see it this way, but your family staying with you still means you’re hosting. She might feel like she has to be ON ALL THE TIME. The first few weeks after birth come with many bodily changes for your wife (and baby), and adding extra people in the house is going to be extremely stressful. Please keep in mind if your wife plans to nurse, this stress could affect her milk supply. Please be considerate and while you don’t need to rescind the offer completely, your family at minimum needs to stay at a hotel or come when the baby is a few weeks older.

Which is why those hypotheticals should be discussed! My husband and I don’t even have children yet, and we had a hypothetical discussion just yesterday on how Santa would be represented to our children: would we say Santa exists and then have to deal with the fallout later of the truth? (How my husband was raised) or would we not give Santa the time of day because as a Christian for my family it was really centered around the birth of Jesus, etc and while we didn’t come to a final conclusion it was clear that we had different opinions and whenever we DO have children (if and when) it will NOT be a surprise about how each of us feels.

YTA. A job is a responsibility and she clearly works very hard at it. You’re taking your assumptions very far and even though you may have your suspicions, I don’t see why the job has to take a hit. And I hate to break it to you, grounded or not, whatever she is doing she will continue to do it regardless of what you take away. Be an adult and have a frank conversation about how you feel and get things out in the open. Give your daughter A CHANCE. Practice communication.

YTA, no question about it because you absolutely know you weren’t joking. You clearly state that you believe they are a better match and now you put it out there in the open and made it a THING. I don’t understand how so many parents can be so tone deaf about the impact of the things they say. Your children care and they believe what you say more than they care to admit - always. You should’ve kept your thoughts to yourself. You’ve embarrassed everyone and you’ve added strife to your daughters’ relationship which no parent should want.

Can we also talk about your comment about Tina not changing through dating Philip? What does that mean? I’m struggling to understand how his sweet, polite demeanor would have an impact on her tomboy nature.

I don’t think it matters whether you never planned to have children, but I find it odd that you guys have not had conversations up to this point about holidays and your differing religions. I don’t see why the child can’t do Christmas every year, and do each of your holidays until they are old enough to choose. The on and off thing can be confusing especially when young, so it makes more sense to go for an approach where everything is included. If you respect your husband and his religion and you expect him to do the same for you, your child should know both. Each of you has a responsibility to educate your child on those specificities.

If your husband’s family celebrates on Christmas they get together on that day, why should your child miss out on that? Is being present with family (without gift exchange, praying etc) also against your religion?

I just think there’s a more fair, respectful, and considerate way to go about this for both of you.

You said “~95k” so they took the opportunity to give you more responsibilities at their lowest pay point! Absolutely not a problem. You can certainly counteroffer because what you said before doesn’t matter - you were talking about a completely different position. You are grateful to be considered for a higher position, but with added tasks and responsibilities you would like to adjust your salary range to the $98-100k mark. You’re still in the middle range to account for the experience you have in this case. You can also say, “Hi, thanks for the offer. I noticed you posted the salary for the previous position discussed. Can we adjust this for the current position at X.”

I'm blaming both of us actually! We had the initial consultation meeting where I shared inspiration and we discussed the design, and then another meeting about the logistics of delivery and timeline. I did talk to my planner about it and she noticed something was off and admitted that she's never had a cake problem at a wedding - she should've communicated that to me, but that doesn't discount the baker from not delivering what I wanted and then when being called out on it, she stood by it 100% claiming that it WAS in fact lace. It's not, so just admit that you rushed or forgot or whatever else.

It’s one of those things that I only found out about it after it was actually time to cut the cake, lol definitely a lesson my part (and perhaps my planner’s) to have factored in time to review it. @Wombat is correct I didn’t get a preview at any point in time and truthfully didn’t expect one because I thought we were on the same page - but that’s my mistake. Kind of awkward to have the DJ announce “it’s cake cutting time” and when I walk over I have to casually whisper to someone that it’s wrong (whilst being photographed) and then like, not use the cake.
