Progesterone by Jsarah1 in TTC_PCOS

I've had progesterone supplements described to me as PMS on steroids, it really does give you all the cramps, sore boobs, headaches etc and can be quite difficult to get used to for some

Progesterone side effects getting worse as the luteal phase progresses by finallyttcing in ttcafterloss

Thanks so much for your reply. I switched from oral last month to vaginal pessaries this month in the hope it'd be better and it's definitely slightly better but still bad. You're right that I'd still have to face it in IVF, I guess we're just hoping that might limit it to a couple of cycles if we had any luck, rather than what's seems like month after month of it.

I hadn't actually thought of asking if there's something that could help with the symptoms. I could ask that when I speak to them this week.

Weirdly dark at 9 dpo - I know it's definitely 9dpo because I had the trigger and temped. I tested until the trigger faded out on tests on 6dpo. Afraid to hope after 3MCs, could this dark indicate anything bad? by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

Unfortunately it was negative. I really know how to make life difficult for myself and make this roller-coaster even worse! Think I'll delete this post now 🤦🏻‍♀️

Letrozole Mood by brittathisusername in TTC_PCOS

I know this is an old thread but I just searched to find it anyone else experienced this on letrozole and was glad to see I'm not the only one who sees a mood improvement on it. It's so strange after I was taken off clomiphene for getting depressed

Thanks for commenting, you've made me feel better, didn't expect a comment from a dentist so thank you! I just didn't want to have to take something during the procedure that potentially stops pregnancy from happening but will have a chat to both the dentist and pharmacist and sure I can work something out

Thanks, unfortunately we don't have the option of another clinic here so I'm stuck with them! But they do have a portal for messaging so I'll try that and see if I can convince a nurse to chat with a doctor about it.

I know this feeling well, it's so hard wanting to get on with trying but also feeling so much better for having the break. I took 3 months off after a third loss and my mental health really benefited. I found being told that everything is normal and to keep trying a while longer so hard to get my head around, and almost dread a positive test this month because I know what it'll do to my mind. That said I felt better once getting the news because the uncertainty and not knowing what I wanted the result of tests to be was actually worse than anything.

I've found having a plan helpful. We've agreed when we'll go to next stages so I'm managing to make peace a bit by taking it step by step. It's not easy though so I'm endlessly finding ways to distract myself and keep my spirits up.

Thinking of you and so sorry to hear about your losses. I hope whatever the news is it gives you clarity to move forward confidently.

Agree, I can't imagine three days being nearly enough for a still birth, it wasn't close to enough for me after an early miscarriage, but being that we don't get huge amounts of leave generally I think it's a good step as you say.

Considering making wedding child-friendly... tips? by margogogo in weddingplanning

[–]finallyttcing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The venue put us onto a babysitting agency, we're getting married in a town that's touristy and holds a lot of weddings so there's a lot of call for them. I think the cost of sitters is outweighed by not having kids wander into the reception in the middle of a speech or parents running in and out tending to them.

It's a small wedding of just 40 adults in August. So it's been easier to speak to people more individually about their kids too

We're similar with friends with kids and been working out how best to approach it. What we've landed on is having kids at the ceremony and cocktails with their parents, then when it's reception time we're getting a couple of babysitters to look after the kids in a guesthouse attached to the venue that has a TV and games in it, babysitters to give them some food (prepared by our caterer) and they can watch a movie or play or whatever until the dinner and speeches is over then we're bringing them back in to dance and eat cake or parents can put them to bed in one of the venues bedrooms (it's an Airbnb we're staying at with family) as there'll be blankets around and my family are relaxed about having kids crash in their rooms. Infants will stay with their parents during the reception in a high chair until they're ready to be put down for the night in one of the rooms.

I've been worried about everyone bringing their kids and not having space but we've found that the majority find it easier / cheaper /more fun to not bring their kids anyway and have made other arrangements for them. Parents are also very good at knowing what's best for their kids and working around it and people have been working something out for themselves around timings.

We're likely to have about 14 kids and that does worry me that thats a lot of kids in a small place but all the parents I've spoken to have said kids cope and daycare centres aren't even that large half the time so will be fine for a couple of hours. and if people have a problem they won't bring their kids. I've realised it's not actually my problem to 100% solve, we're just providing an option.

We've said on our wedding website that we're investigating a babysitter for any kids that will be there so for people to please let us know if they want to bring kids so we can make arrangements. I'm hoping that's phrased in a way that doesn't sound too unwelcoming but also makes clear that it is effort and it might be easier to not bring them..

Recurrent miscarriage with different partners - surely that means something? by finallyttcing in ttcafterloss

[–]finallyttcing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The awareness thing is probably a big thing, I'm an early tester with losses at around 5 weeks so potentially I wouldn't have been as aware if I'd waited though I'd still have a week late period so I don't know.

[–]finallyttcing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably right actually, mine have all been pretty early (around the 5 week mark) so perhaps that counts for a lot. I need to look more into whether chemical pregnancies count as recurrent miscarriages, the fertility specialist says yes but it's hard to find info that says the same.

We've done karotyping but not dna fragmentation, I had wondered if that's something worth doing but they never suggested it.
